Not sure about all this cellphone malarkey - how did people tell in the days before cellphones?
Personal view is that you can tell by a hundred different things: phone calls every day, wanting to be with you as much as poss, sacrificing previous "me time" to be with you, if you can talk about the future and he don't look shifty, etc etc.
And prob v important - what is his relationship with your nippers (if you have nippers, which I think you do) - if there is any indication AT ALL that he is after you only, and not "The whole package" then i would think very carefuly before proceeding.....
But good luck AL, you sound like a nice lass and you deserve happiness.
The same place I buy my lingerie at 10.30 on a saturday night.
Although TBH I'm pretty sure the man of my dreams would have no complaints if I turned up on a date with no lingerie and a bumper pack of drain rods....................

Ah, have just read back to ms N's comments and also that he finds kids "a bit scary". I concur with general tenor of remarks above.
Real commitment is that he wants all of you including what comes with you. You need to think of the relationship your nippers will have with him and ask if he is mature enough or committed enough to handle it.
Since when have half of the people on here been relationship experts?
AL, just do what you want.
