Haven't had time to read back, so what was it like? After all the promise, missed out on this one as my step-dad had a stroke 2 weeks ago whilst on holiday in Gran Canaria so had to fly out on the 18th to be with my mum and flew home by night-flight on the 25th - landed at Gatwick at 7.15am so no chance of getting to the start line. Still, never mind. Step-dad not too good - still in intensive care awaiting all clear for Air Ambulance filght home.
Oh Didds! Am sorry to hear about your step-dad, and what a hectic time!
The race/run was well organised, some of us managed to meet up prior, some after (in the pub). It was windy and gritty along the embankment, and someone argued with an old lady crossing the road in between the runners! People were generally happy with the excellent goody bag of men vitamins for women and over 50s woman vitamins for men (or was it vice versa?) - and also nice t-shirts but for some too big and some too small
Some people choked on the grit flying in mouths (not even large ones ), and someone helped someone when they were chucking! There were helicopters and cameras and photos are out tomorrow.
Top man did it in 28 mins I think, and priority entries for next year are being emailed...and people are joining again.
Schmunkee captured it on dvd and if you msg her she'll send you a copy. Mr.K. was dressed at as a nun, and people varied their Garmin distances.. and also speeds recorded sometimes differently on the chip times. (mine was about 30 seconds sooner so I got a PB!). Lisa Edmeads got a fab time with her poorly ankle wearing her snug BHF top (think it was Lisa with the ankle),
I'm going to start new forum if no-one still has for Bupa 10,000 2010 plus social.
A few had a social and it went down very well... topping up iron and anti-oxidants (encouraged by WTS as an experienced runner!).
That's it in a nutshell.. general fab feeling all round.. or was that just us after the pub?
Ah bless.. you must be tiny! erm...... can you crop the sleeves? use it as a duster? put it on ebay for charity donation? use it as a pic frame backdrop for your medal? oooohhh use it as a pillow case?
oh well...i don't remember seeing any particular queue...I was just in a daze though and just reached out to a lady who was handing out bags. that's a pain..would of liked a small version of that top!

I'm in for 2010!!
TracyB - 9lbs, I'll accept that then. My 40 sit-ups each morning seem to be having some affect but I like chocolate, biccies & crisps too much
I think you should start the forum for 2010 and be our "honorary host"
Got to work.. catch you later
I didn't get an e mail re next year...............................or is that in my junk folder as well. Virgin has a lot to answer for!
Tryffydog - nor did here is the link - it worked for me.

You wouldn't have seen me Leoric as I finished so fast I was just a blur! - yeah right, in my dreams
I dunno about you but I looked up after we came through the archway onto the Mall and the finish line looked miles away!!

Your right I saw a sign saying "only 400 meters to go" and thought are you sure it looks double that.
Thanks Andyp - will try that when I get home.
Mr K Just replayed tv footage and saw you , did you steal that outfit from Tracyb?

Morning Mr.K.
You know me.. I like to say it as it is Meant to run by today but it's H's birthday and he won't let me go
Off to check pics - no.. not yet...
Mornin All,
Just checked ..still no piccies .. perhaps they're still censoring the shots ... apparently there was a half dressed nun on the run (wot no fishnets)
ttfn.
gmike perhaps they're still developing the slow ones
p.s. it doesn't have to be as long as mine if you know what I mean.
DonnaG if you can't swap it, when you wear it just tie it round the middle like a crop top
Still no pic's, although RW have updated my pic on here lol.
Lisa, how do you get the photo so small to get on here, I've tried and tried but it just wont go small enuff
Futurity, by picking up on the conversations on here I think there were men and women bags, we obviously just joined the wrong queue
Although I now feel better that I wasn't the only one who picked up the wrong bag
