Really looking forward to this, sounds like we have got a few more this year,so looking forward to having a few bodies around me,I always seem to be "billie no mates" after a few miles!!
Great race for looking around and checking the scenery.
I'd say the last 7 miles are mostly flat but with 2 or 3 small inclines and some nice gentle down hill sections, there is only really the one significant hill which climbs for approx .5mile at (I'd guess) about 9 miles in. There are plenty of other smaller climbs but none that go on for any great distance.
Hi mugpunter32, I ran 5 mile last night round the wonderful streets of Birmingham. We cannot get up Stoke to the races in the week. How did the race go for you? Is your photo on Bryans web site yet?

Race went fairly well but i think i went off a bit slowly.
Still to master perfect pacing
I'm on page 4 of Bryans photos bottom left(not particularly athletic looking chap)
Missed my Thursday run so could rest up for Sunday, but got bored so did some skipping in the garden. Got up today and got sore calves. I'm not getting out of my chair until Sunday now (too dangerous).
Weather's still looking good for Sunday (cloudy no wind)
Wind's supposed to die down over the weekend. Well, according to the BBC and we know how accurate they are....
Moved my Thursday run to Weds (8 miles) and just did some gentle cross-training in the gym last night instead. Couldn't resist a quick blast on the treadie though - just the one mile mind
Cap 66 - hi again. I cycled the route for a final risk assessment yesterday. I know you were concerned about underfoot conditions. Looking at it through your eyes, as it were, there are places where the footpath is a bit old and crumbly. I mean, just bog standard old pavement that's been patched up umpteen times, and not anything that would make it into a formal risk assessment - the sort of surface that is basically inevitable at some point in 20 miles. But difficult to judge what you would regard as a problem, so thought I would mention it.
However, the section I have in mind is well within the first half, so you should be fresh and alert! Also, the field is likely to be quite spread out, so it's not like you won't have a good clear view of where your feet are landing. Personally I would not think you'll have a problem, but as I say, not easy for me to judge it from your perspective.
Thanks CharlieR. I complained of bad ankles and then went and did the goyt valley 10k. My ankles took a right battering, but i got through it. So South Cheshire 20 - bring it on.
Did a nice easy off road 7 miles yesterday and a nice rest day today before the last big one tomorrow. Weather is looking good for a change hope we get the same tomorrow. Think this is about the 10th long one now and a few have been a bit lonely down the canals on me own so will be nice to run for 20 miles with others.
Have a good run all, see you for the early start in the morning.

Hope the hills aren't too bad, but sure they'll help break the run up and give our legs something different to do.
