Okehampton now fields a new running club - ORC. I have entered under my new club colours and am trying to round up other likely suspects. Most of them are too focused on London to think beyond but I shall work on them.
Is Eden likely to sell out d'you think? It's a very good offer I think and better value than many.
If you live in or around Okehampton Flipperjane you will find Eden a piece of cake it will be a stroll in the park for you,on inviting your fellow club runners i would persuade them asap so then they have something to focus on during the summer.
As for the Pastie topic Muttley they are ansome had one at the Eden promo certainly not Ginsters
If you had a sweet shop how would you feel if someone opened the same shop next door?
Think I am gona boycott this one this year and continue to support Dartmoor vale, I personally think its well out of order them holding this the week before there event! the have been going years and raising cash for charity! there are 52 weeks in a year and to do it the week before is wrong! i would do both but I think St Austell should use a different date.
I am from north devon so i am nothing to do with DMV marathon, but i think they do a good job!
Muzza - I know what you're getting at but I find races often clash. In the big picture there must be enough runners to over fill both of these races - I'm sure the organisers of DVM don't need to be concerned. The marathons are in neighbouring counties not towns. It's surely only a problem when you want to participate in both races.
I'm planning a marathon in Cornwall in October - how hilly is the Dartmoor Vale marathon? I've also heard there's a Camel Trail marathon around same time - anyone else heard about this one?
As a Cornish girl living in Yorkshire I love the idea of an Eden Marathon, but as I'll be doing my first half-marathon in September I think I'd be pushing it a bit! Although a medal and a pasty sounds very tempting! Maybe next year.
I know - pin in a map job. Too late for me to dither though - I'm commited - The Eden project it is - better be a good medal
Seriously - it's great to be doing some off road training for a marathon - I'm really looking forward to it.
The chairman of our new running club - Andy Vallance is hoping to beat the world record by cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats AND BACK - in 6 days. How mad is that !! - sorry off topic i know but check it out on www.okehamptonrunningclub.com (click on meet the coaches)
Is Dartmoor Vale the 10k race near Newton Abbot? I would have thought they'd attract a different type of runner.
I know that I won't be running Eden simply because I want to concentrate on the shorter stuff this year. I may well do the half but that wouldn't put me off doing a 10k a week later.
My family are usually less than inspired by my running events and i usually go to them on my own however this one is attracting them like bees around the jam jar!! So that is great for me and good for business for the Eden Project -a win win situation.
Not allowed to run at present stupid injury - but want to do this as its a first, medal, t-shirt, pasty and entry into Eden what more could you ask for, well a pb but don't suppose that's gonna happen down there
I'm seriously but seriously tempted, for either the half or the full. Bit early to commit, though. But I'm minded to do it. Muttley Jnr and Mother of Muttley will have plenty of time to wander round the biomes if I do the full.
Anyone who hasn't been to the Project - you're missing out, it's fab!

Hello,
I'm planning a marathon in Cornwall in October - how hilly is the Dartmoor Vale marathon? I've also heard there's a Camel Trail marathon around same time - anyone else heard about this one?
Thanks loads.
Oct 11th Camel Trail Marathon, Cornwall
Just looked at some photo's for the route. beautiful.
Now I'm torn - too many sweeties in the jar. If I eat them all I'll burst.
stoppit, i want to do em all as well
Aaaargh ... the Atlantic Coast Challenge, Abingdon, Eden Project, Camel Trail ... all at a similar time ... what's a chap to do?
Events offering a medal will score extra points ... a medal and a pasty means double extra points ...
I know - pin in a map job. Too late for me to dither though - I'm commited - The Eden project it is - better be a good medal

Eden Project is still winning for me - as it's the first. I just want to support the project.
My family are usually less than inspired by my running events and i usually go to them on my own however this one is attracting them like bees around the jam jar!! So that is great for me and good for business for the Eden Project -a win win situation.
