Don't think there's a thread for this year's Flitwick yet, so I thought I'd start one. It'll be my first race this year, so I've been training really hard for it, so I can do it in under the hour.
I did this last year too - it was my first ever race so was pleased to get round without stopping! yes, it's a bit hilly so wouldn't expect a PB either. I'll do it again this year though just to beat last year's time, I'll be more than happy to go under 48 mins
Undulating is about right, although I remember one "hill" from last year, but then I probably hadn't trained enough at that point. I'm actually hoping to get a PB, but that will be down to more training than a fast course.
No idea where online race entry is because I'm doing good old fashioned paper.
Sorry that the online entry isn't live yet. We're trying to iron out the problem with help from RunnersWorld, so it will be available as soon as we can get it sorted.
As many of you will be aware we have had a few problems getting the online entry system operational. We appologise to any of you who have not been able to enter before but all seems to be working now.
this is a great race with a the great addition after the 10k of a junior fun run which is free and kids just turn up. i too wouldn't say its a PB course; too damn hilly round the village part.
i am hoping to come to support this year - not enough running yet for me to start entering races again. My mum and dad still live in flitwick after all these years just round the corner from the rec. I last did it in 2007 and realised just before the event it was on my wedding anniversary - oops. ran in hen night gear complete with L plate on back and got a nice mention from the cheery chap on the PA
Tigeress' 15 year old daughter has entered the 10k, it will be her first 10k. It will be interesting to see how she gets on. I should be there with the family to cheer her on and maybe watch the boys in the fun run.
Tigeress has just said she might do the 10 as well.
hey cyber; great to hear from you. only cheering on this year. have been out of running for a while and just getting back into it. have joined a local club. mum is coming to watch on temple way on race day so thought i would cheer on some forumites. you not running the 10k then?
hi tweety, no, I've not run for about 3 months , Tigeress started to work nights last year so I was unable to get out in the evenings. And then I picked up a foot injury. So just watching at the mo. It's not as much fun but it's less stressfull, I can let the runners worry about the race before hand. But I do miss the excitment, and buzz you get on race morning.
Planning to EOD tomorrow - will be lovely to be out there - not done this one before - so no PB expected on those hills. Just hope to get in under 60m - maybe that's wishful thinking.
We had a bit of a mixed day, with baby Asics being car sick twice on the way there. But everything turned out for the best when Jade took the honours for first junior girl home. Ronan, our 9 year old had a good run in the fun run. Hartley Hare was that you leading them around, and a lovely sunny afternoon to finnish off the day. Seemed like a very well organised event.
GM, I think I saw you after the race talking to some others outside the village hall. Hope you had a good race.

I'm looking at this one.
Is it potentially a PB course?
DId it last year - it's quite hilly so I'd probably say not a PB course.
Just hoping to knock a bit of last year's time - so anything under 48 mins would be good for me

Not a bad course, but don't be fooled by the Flyers that it's fast!!
It's quite undulating all the way, you would need to be fit to do a PB on this course. Good event though..
Runnersworld have now sorted the online issues and online entries are open Thank Goodness.
I think I will be cheering on this year....training isn't exactly frequent!
Hi Folks

All I would say is that it helps to be fit to run the course well....if you are strong from FLM training, it is a great 10k.
Good event overall though...
Hi,
Do you know if the event is near the station?

Tweety, how you getting on? long time no see.
Have not got my race number yet - are they in the post or is a collect on day - does anyone know?
Cheers

Anyone know roughly when the results get online?
I presume you would know roughly by how long it took for them to be published last year?
Thanks
that doesn't want to work either. Try www.sportsystems.net
