I waited 5 years for the opportunity to run the Sodbury Slog in November 2008, it was a fantastic experience that i would like to enjoy again. I understand sodbury conservators are objecting to race being held on the common, placing the race in jeopardy. I cannot believe that any lasting damage can be done to the common in no more than 30 mins activity of a 1000 runners once a year.
It will be a sad day if this race dies.

Where was this stuff about the race having issues with the common? I've not heard anything.
I also had a great time last year and would be sorry to see it go.

Miserable sods eh
Right, I guess we need to get a letter writing campaign going.
I'll see if I can find contact details for the conservators.
If you would like to write to the commoners to express your support for the race the address is:

Thanks for support, we are currently in discussions with various parties and are looking at alternative routes.
Letters to any parties who can influence and change the decision not to use the Common are welcome but urge you to be polite in your correspondence.
