Bupa 10K Great Manchester Run
Who's in for this, It should be a cracking day with Haile Gebrselassie confirmed to be running in the 10K, what an honour to be running in the same event as the great man.
Also Usain Bolt will be running a 150m street race after the 10K !

I'm in Orange group did 45 mins last year with a running partner. I have been injured a bit recently but managed the salford 10K in 48 mins so would love to know if anyone in Orange group would like to be my running partner and aim to get close to 45 or better???? Let me know
I've also signed up for this...just got my pack yesterday, i'm in green wave - i had NO IDEA how huge an event it was...i'm bit nervous now but pleased so many are doing it cos that means I won't be in the last 10 people like I usually am in races! lol

I would like to know if on the course there are mile markers or km markers? I've never done a 10K race before

PloddingLady - there will be km markers, or at least there have been every other year I've run it. Nice, as they come around more often than mile markers!

I'm in. I'm in white, but my OH is in Pink.
I'm doing Edinburgh in 4 weeks so not planning on doing much of a run, just get round in one pace and don't do myself any (more!) injuries!
Cracking race though - it was my first 10k as well that got me into running, so I have to thank it each year!
As for the marker points - defiantley had km markers for the past years, and think they throw in a 5 mile marker. They also break the last 1k into 400m, 200m and 'Nearly There' or something.
This is my 1st event of any kind, I only started training just before Christmas after many years of being fat & unfit.
I'm still overweight but much fitter & looking forward to the 17th.
I suspect I will be one of those that ends up walking more than running but I will try not to get in anyones way.
I will be at the training day at Platt Lane next week, hope to see some of you there.

very similar to me Keith - i've found this event to be great motivation in getting me out of the door - i'm at a point now where I enjoy going for my morning runs rather than thinking oh my gawd!
