I had some fat balding bloke comment 'go on, a bit faster!' about 10 mile in on a 20 miler last week. I was SO not in the mood for it, he looked a bit alarmed when I shouted back "I'm running 20 miles, I'd like to see you go faster" I got home and worked out that I had averaged 8:15mm, so I wasn't going that slow. People just like to comment, usually those who criticise are the ones who haven't run a mile in their lives.

Aaaah yes, nothing like the "you wont get fit just walking" from the Chavs at the bus stop when I'm on my cool down walk... Oh yes cos everyone knows how fit you get sitting on a fecking bus!!!

I have to say guys that the chav season is with us once again. Lighter evenings means these plonkers will be out and about with their witty comments and abuse.
I had a couple of young girls( 11/12 tear olds) last week shouting and abusing when I ran past them by a local fishing lake early evening ...I think they likening me to a ladies private parts...to put it politely.
Of course, they never hurt anybody, but the complete lack of respect shown by young-uns, and their parents, is disgusting, total lack of moral fibre these days.
I had one lad run with me. I gave him a mouthful.
To my disbelief he actually wanted to impress me, not the girls he was standing with. He was actually trying very hard to keep up with me and really wanted someone to run with. My bad.
Jj - it's a popular derogatory term for a 4-wheel-drive car, usually a big one like a Range Rover.
I'm really sorry to say, the chav behaviour seems to be endemic to parts of the UK, I've lived here in Germany for half my adult life and have never ever been heckled while running. Mind you, that could have something to do with the fact I run 90% of the time in a large forest, accompanied by either or both of my rather large shepherd dogs.
Please. Please tell me you're being funny.
I don't have anything against 4x4 drivers generally - just the ones that let their children shout abuse at me. I don't, however, think they're the appropriate vehicle for driving round London for trips to the supermarket. I'd like cleaner air on my runs thanks.
(I'm bracing for comments about not running in London if you want clean air)

A friend of mine was just finishing a fast 6-mile run when an unfit, overweight work colleague who was walking past said "Look at you puffing and panting- I'm in better shape than you!" hee hee
Verbal abuse whilst running feeds my inner bastard... I like it, it doesn't happen enough for me
