second time at this race I must be mad as I have Buxton the week after but Eyam is great the race goes like clockwork that monster hill really tests you
I have never done a half marathon but hold no fear for this I can't run anywhere round my area (yorkshire dales) without massive 2 mile up 1 in 7 hills can't wait for eyam half HAVE IT.Been dieting to only 16 and half stone now lol! gonna rolly polly down
OH MY GOD. I have just drove round the course tonight. It goes past a bloody gliding club, the hills seem to go on and on and get steeper and steeper. Shit
Ha-good point. I've got the flask and sandwiches-you bring the cake and camera. We will have a picnic at top of the hill (the last one)... come on, we can do it!!!!!!
Phew DM-no time to stop for sarnies then. How the hell do you PB on that course. Fantastic race though, the scenery was just awe inspiring, marshalls brilliant-pity about the rain at the end though as the whole village seemed to have made such an effort for the event.
1.59 on the clock for me. 56 seconds quicker than last year which I'm pretty happy with. I had a stitch from about 3 miles in which meant running downhill wasn't particularly pleasant.
The people of Eyam did a great job. I will be here here next year. I did consider a nice pic nic at the top of those hills. The ramblers on the hill looked gob smacked didnt they
Weird DM I got 1:47 at Sheffield three weeks ago and 1 hr:56 today. I think though that I set out with slower time in mind so didnt push it-fear of unknown etc. However although it was tough, the course was just so fantastic that I was gutted when it ended!
Oh, by the way-very well done anyway on PB and well done everyone that did it-boy our legs will know about this one tomorrow
I ran the whole way and was 2 mins behind you I was been steady this was my 3rd half after recoving from a broken ankle was taking it easy running down the hill
craker of a course. everyone was brill, organisation was second to none and the locals seemed to be so excited to have 450 mad runners running through their village. well impressed will be back next year to beat my time.1.29.39
Yes I was second to last lol! someone has to be for my first half loved it will do it again the people were great, the marshals got out there cars in the terential rain to clap and cheer us on.The sponges were a great touch felt like a pro and was even followed round by non finisher bus just kept telling myself it was my support team lol! Am sore today very tough challenging course.
cheers our kid for running it with me them 2hr 50 mins half marathons way harder than your sub 1hr 30 mins bro lads crackers rode his bike day before from milton keynes-buxton with his mate 135 miles then did this with me beat that!
Gavin - everyone who did the run loves you. A lot of people could not walk 13 miles never mind run it not forgetting those hills - you will get better i promise you - don't give up.

it is a good testing course at Eyam just push yourself on what I would say take it steady on the downhill so you have something left to climb back up
Looks like its going to be wet and warm !
