Just to let you know that entries are going out thick and fast. Anyone who hasn't entered please do so ASAP as there is a limit of 700 and were well on the way. I'm sure we'll be full within 2 weeks. Therefore we are not expecting to have any entries available on the day.
Totally agree Mick, the mist cleared last year just as I got to the peaceful countryside and the sun shone through-it was magic. It beat all the big city half marathons I did last year..no fuss-just get on with enjoying it.
CD, if not recovered from Snowdon enough, I may be at the back with you. I'll have me blue sheep buff on my head. It would be good to meet you at last.
I think this will probably be my 6th go at Clowne, will be doing it the week after the Newcastle marathon so not expecting too much, I think my pb for this course is around 1:23, could go under that providing not too stiff and sore.
have you ever been to swanage great place by the sea and from the top of the south west path youcan see poole and Needles across the sea and I go to monkey world every time I them down there is where I got my nic name after my adopted orng uta
Feeling more enthused for this race the more I read about it.....been out of training way too long (as proven today at Lancaster) so have made solemn promise to kick myself up the bum ready for Clowne.....wondering whether to make a weekend of it. Find a drive home of more than 1 hour a bit much sometimes.
I did Lancaster this time last year in 1h26 but the end of that day gor worse because it was the day I did my ankle can not belive a year has passed quick
Yeah I was there at Lancaster. Saw you two at the very start of the race where I also bumped into another RW blogger (Ferocitas) which was great to put a face to a name. I'll look out for you at Clowne.
That's a great time - well done. I got 2hrs 20mins by my watch which I was happy with considering my lack of proper training!
just enetred this half marathon after running the very flat gosport half marathon at the weekend. looking forward to the scenary although the biggest challenge may be driving up from Surrey in the morning........... and of course eventually driving back!
i am sure i will enjoy it. I have a simple attitude to long distance races........after finishing i can eat what i like for the next 12 hours which makes it worthwhile! Now what should this southern softy indulge in..... Yorkshire Pud...... Bakewell Tart...... i think staffordshire Oatcakes are currently favourite!

It's a perfect event,
i was asked by the organisers after our first ever visit there,
as to how they could improve on the event, in any way ,
i replied " I don't think you can "

Lewis
it is a great race this one as good as sheffield and Leeds
Sheffield is within innner city
this race , the first mile is through the small town and residential main road, then it moves out to peaceful and perfect countryside
passing through small villages, and along a main road on pavement, before truning left along a rural road into Clown village and to the finish
it may be small compared to some events, but they have it sussed
