Angie - your last post has made me wonder if we met at Sheffield in April at the end of the race?? The comment about your hair......ha ha! Anyway, if so it'll be great to see you on Sunday again. Not sure of my number but I'll be somewhere near the back.
i was at sheffield this year and probably was me, i had very orange hair there lol(hair colour went a bit crazy) dont worry about being at the back i'll be there too, did this one in 2hrs 21 last year hoping for around 2hrs 5 this, my PB is 2hr 2 but this isnt a course for those (well not from me anyway lol).
i was pleased i made the decision to run last year its lovely ( the worksop road is a bit of a drag but rest is great)
weather is changeable isn't it - you'd have thought the forecast could stay sane - has gone from heavy rain to bright sunshine to light rain... oh well, guess we'll all potter round nonetheless.
Think my number is 76. I'll be tottering along at the back cursing all the hills! Have done no running this week due to a poorly ankle so this may be seriously hard work.
The one certain thing about the weather for Clowne 1/2 marathon is the uncertainty which all adds to the fun. Your right Andy about last year but why the gritter was out is anyone's guess as the race was nearly cancelled due to the course being flooded.
However, I've booked sunny and cold for Sunday which should make for a good race.
Jumping on this thread late in the day, but good luck to all this weekend. As said, looks likely to be a wet and windy one .
Only my second 1/2, Worksop first. Did that with a bad cold, doing this one after a 2 week layoff, due to a dodgy ankle..... maybe planning for 1/2's isn't a good idea?
would appear the combination of worksop and clowne as one's first two halfs is a bad one - i've done the same, and after a week off before the Worksop one where i ate too much and ran too little i have since had ten days off with the flu, and a week off with an ankle injury! Tomorrow will be slow and steady for sure.
glad it's not just me wondering what to wear! i'm fairly local too, and thinking cold and wet to start with, can expect to get wet thru then dry off hopefully as we get further round. tights and long sleeved top. Just debating jacket vs gilet as i always get too hot with jacket on.
im thinking short sleeve top with club running vest over the top and tights but a must have is gloves for me never took them off last year for the whole run
yeah i remember you talking about doing that the night before
yeah i'll be there, no rain falling here at the mo
drove some of the course today on my way back from tesco in clowne and looks ok if it doesnt rain the there are no puddles like last years flooding to bother us, unfortuantly i couldnt flatten out the hills

Sorry Darren, can't help you out. I'm planning for a good run all being well. Will let you know if I hear of anything.
Lol re last year. We were travelling behind a gritter on the M1 up to Clowne and did wonder about sanity at the time
