RFJ, 3.07?! On the NFM course? Wow, that's pretty good, what's your PB? Have I seen you on the Pewsey Vale HM thread too?
I've got the Salisbury 54321 trail race tomorrow (30k). Chance to drag myself around a bit faster than I normally do. Hope the training is going OK everybody.
Mr Guy, pretty warm, well organised, friendly, good day out. You should give it a go one year. On hoping to go a little faster than normal, that didn't seem to happen. In fact I was slower than on my last few LSR's which I was disappointed with. Oh well, good weeks, bad weeks. Good races, bad races. Equalled my PB on a 3.5m race on Friday night to can't have it all ways.
Hi all - good to see the training is still going well for most. Mine is going ok - had a couple of weeks off in July for various reasons/excuses, although starting the garmin 16 week schedule with 20 weeks to go has helped me factor in slippages in training. 3.07 is indeed a good time (to me anything that starts with a 3 is a good time).
I have also only used the HRM on the 305 sporadically (admittedly normally due to forgetting to find/put on the belt as much as anything) and as I am going on perceived exertion as well as the pacing (now on the 4 hour schedule) don't fin it an issue, just interesting to compare it accross similar workouts a few weeks apart.
I did a good 17 mile off road today. So feeling pretty happy with my running this week.
I must admit I haven't been paying that much attention to my HMR, the only time I have paid attention to it is for recovery runs. I am now going so slowly on my recoveries old women with zimmer frames overtake me!
Did my intervals this morning. 4x 1mile. 6.29, 6.14, 6.12 & 6.06. Big improvement over the last time I did this sesh a couple of wks ago so the training works!
Almost as bad! Not really sure what it was but my finger swelled up and filled with puss, the Doc stuck a scalpel in it and recond that should sort it out. I think I need to be more careful where I am putting my fingers next time
Im not elite, far from it... PB at the moment is 3:13 (on an undulting course about the same as the NF course, 3:07 may be a bit hopeful now, but still hope to get under 3:10 all being well.
Scuff, yes I am doing Pewsey in a week or so
Milage is averaging at 55m a week, with the odd 60 and lower week (last week was on hols in Greece and olny did 25...) and have had tum issues thia week
A few more hard weeks training before a 2 week taper
Just got back from a weeks holiday in Northumberland. Did a 20 and a 16. Bit hillier than I am used to but I got round OK. Just 1 more 20 miler to do. Not long to go know...
Havent got a clue what No I am yet for Pewsey, but will be in Andover AC colours aka tesco value bag..... aim a bit faster than MP as want to dip under 90 mins.
Bright yellow. Nice. Did a HM at the weekend at my MP. Going round again at the same pace would have been hard. Less than 4wks to NFM now isn't it? Creeps up on you.
Just gotten back from holiday where I didn't get the chance to run due to being ill all week, typically! Thought I would be ok for a 22 miler today but had to cut it short and gave up at 17 miles. On the plus side thought I can run 17 miles with a bloody horrible cold so I must be in pretty good shape!
Had agreat Pewsey with a PB, then did a sub 30 5m race yesterday, and blew up completly on my lSR as far too tired today, only did 9m, probably the issues of driving 1000m and working the last last 3 days.
Now puts me in a quandary - could do with 1 more 20... but is now getting to close to do it.... so looks like I will do a 15m mid week and an 18m at the weekend...... then a nice 2 week taper...
I want a sub 3.45 my PB is 3.50 which I got in April and I have done my highest millage ever over the past 3 months and more cross training than ever so it should be on.... can't help worrying though.

Decent 20 miles for me today, the rest of my runs this week have been rubbish this week so it has given me a boost.
Scruffmeister how was Salisbury? I was thinking about doing that.
RJF 307 is impressive, what is your weekly milage like to get to that level?
RFJ - 3:07?
Apologies everyone. I am obviously on the wrong thread. I didn't realise this is the "Elite Runners Only" forum!

21.5 for me yesterday. Yes, it was a hot one.
RFJ, no. 58 at Pewsey, Poole AC vest, see you there. Aiming to do it at MP pace. Or thereabouts.
Havent got a clue what No I am yet for Pewsey, but will be in Andover AC colours aka tesco value bag..... aim a bit faster than MP as want to dip under 90 mins.
Nice runing from you both
But will you wear it before the race? Call me superstitious, but I don't wear race T-shirts for the race I'm in, until I've crossed the finish line.
Did 6miles at MP +8secs last night. Felt quite good. Could I do it for another 20miles though?

Did the Beast yesterday so quads are a little achy this morning. Got a 24m this coming Sunday & the Studland Stampede the week after. Taper?
There's got to be more than three of us doing this race. Is there anybody else out there?
Some good training going on, what's everybodys targets for this race?
