DD-Glad to see your problem with the injury can be sorted.Sorry you're missing the coastal run but better to get yourself sorted for Beijing and Newcastle.
ive got hold of a copy of the route for the marathon, so if anyone wants to see it you can message me through here with your email address and i'll send you one
morning everyone, sadly ive had to pull out of the town moor marathon . family member is getting married the day before doon south and has asked my daughter to be bridesmaid and no way i can get to the wedding and get back to the marathon for the sunday, very very gutted and pi**ed off about it but guess its just one of those things.
ive transferred my number to another RW forum member, so in my place now will be andy sly. hopefully if it takes palce again next year then i will be there
Unfortunately for MrSJ he has dropped out and transferred his number over to me, I feel bad for sj as I know how hard it is to give up on a "big/important" race. I will do my best to do your number proud mate.
Mr SJ and Andy - just out of curiousity, did the organiser let you just request that it was transferred to Andy? Wasn't sure if you had to just say you couldn't do it and they would allocate the number to whoever was next on the waiting list... anyway purely curious, there is no way I am giving up my number, not after all the races I missed last/this year (FLM being the worst to have to miss!), I am determined to give this race my all and cannot wait!
Got shin splints at the moment so slightly out of action but hoping if I am sensible and carry on resting my legs they'll be OK by beginning of Aug which is when training plan kicks in
tutu - they just allowed me to tramsfer it to whoever i wanted, as long as i gave them all andy's details it was fine. not sure how the waiting list thing works as it wasnt mentioned
I'm not doing this now either, it's 5 weeks after Beijing and I'm only just recovering from my stress fracture so doing both wouldn't be too sensible an idea and I'm not missing Beijing unless I have to.
Thanks Mr sj, that's useful to know, I have a friend who I was going to or has pulled out and I think she was wondering if she would be able to transfer it directly to somebody else who wanted it. I'll let her know.
Who else is starting their training on 3rd August then?? That's still the plan for me although still not sure what my shins are up to.. have been resting A LOT to try and get them fully better and strong again for marathon training... 3 miles on Sat went ok and might do 4-ish tonight.. and just build up as gradually as I can without going crazy!
Yep, 3rd August for me too officially, although I'm up to 17 miles already on the long runs. I figure I need to get a little bit ahead so I don't panic when I inevitably come down with Swine Flu. That said, I'm pretty much taking next week off as a pre-schedule battery recharge.
I don't know if anybody is interested but my brother and I are attempting the Great East Swim in September and he has set up a justgiving page for Cancer Research, any donations appreciated.

Have a good day SJ. let's hope this is not the only chance for a mara in the Toon.
It's ages till November but I drove past the Town Moor y'day and I'm really looking forward to this. See you all there.
