A big THANK YOU because my discs have just arrived here in Kabul, Afghanistan - much appreciated and all working well! No extra charge for postage either!
Hi Alex - I'm one of the many satisfied customers - just want to say a big thank you!!
I was only a fleeting glimpse on the finish DVD, but as it was my first London, it's a really nice memento. Also I'm aware of the trouble you took to trace me (- your wife works with my OH?). So I really appreciate the time and effort all this fundraising takes, and what committment!!!
And then to pass some of the funds on to a pal - well that's a real indication as to how nice you must be!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fran, thanks, but I can assure you I am actually a complete git however I come across !
CC - they have all gone, apart from the bloke who whose email addr contains twentytwenty and whose blackberry keeps bouncing the mails I send him asking for his address. Can send another if you haven't had it.
Video arrived OK, but didn't show what I thought I was going to see.
When you press the red button on interactive, you can see 4 screens with the finishers crossing the line, goes on from about 2.45 through to over 5 hours. I thought (don't quite know why) that the disk would show that.
Anyway that said, totally enjoyed seeing the race, although I could have done with less coverage of the fancy dress nutters. Not your fault Alex, more to do with the BBC.
I sent everyone two disks, one with the coverage and one with the red button stuff (finish line). The finish line disk also has the highlights programme on it. Did you have two disks ? If not, and I don't know why that might be other than my own incompetence, mail me again with your time and address and I'll stick one in the post.
Will scan the two again Alex, if you say it's there, I should be able to find it. Once Nell McA had crossed the line which was after me, I simply stopped looking, as I assumed everything else would be later in the day.
It took me 45 mins to find myself, and I very nearly didn't. Try to remember which of the three gates you went thru. It is easy to be distracted by trying to look at all three at once. Perhaps play it in slow motion if your dvd can do this for you.
Hello Welsh Alex! I just wanted to thank you so much for the disks. I watched them today and managed to find myself at the finish too! I had to collect the package from the post office. They said a large first class stamp should have been put on the envelope! I had to pay £1.08, but it was well worth it! Thanks again. I have not been out running for a week. Half term does not help!! But seeing the marathon dvd certainly makes me wanna go out running again very soon!!! Enjoy the rest of the week. Kate x
Kate, sorry about that. My local post office told me they were just under the limit and it seems one or two people have been done for more postage but for most people they have gone through fine. I only had to put put the 'large' stamps on for people who had more than two disks.
For the recent ones I sent out I put regular first class stamps on which should have at least covered the cost of second class large.
Speedy, have sent yours but you didn't give me your postcode so it might take a day or so longer than normal, and with any luck you won't be knobbled by your post office.
Hi Alex, Got mine today thanks.....took a while to find us but there we were.... and even better you can hear the announcer call out our names as we came up to the finish.... A nice momento.....thanks
Just had one mail off someone whose details I didn't get because of the RW email problems in April.
I have mailed everyone since then using the addresses you all gave to bmycharity. If you have not checked your junk mail box and have not had your disk you need to mail me your details again at flmdvd@f9.garrod.co.uk
