It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
as agreed, anyone from the 10 now waiting who have not contacted me before next wednsady will stay where they are on the list but their number will be offered to the next person in line
yep sure looks like a busy few days ahead !
Fast Legs and Beders you both have E-mails.
Cheque arrived this morning, many thanks to you both.
I have to say Beders its a brilliant thing you set up here, there would have been an awful lot of wasted places at Abingdon.
All the best,
Lots of exchanging going on here! Lots of people who owe beders a beer
Beders, I'm still around if I can do anything to help: just email me. I bet you've got it all down to a fine art by now and are probably swapping numbers in your sleep!
I do hope your injury is improving, and that you get on ok at the doctors. There's still plenty of time for quality training.....
Once again thanks! It's really exciting how this thread is working, and how many happy people there are!
Happy training all, and big commiserations and thanks to everyone passing on their places: it is really appreciated!
Also removing Tracey Curl from near the bottom of the list - she got a number from a friend, so that moves me up one place - Goy Roper (M45 and counting). List now looks like this:

Old Timer, how you doing mate? hope your feeling better. Let me know how you get off and hope to catch up with you in this race next year. I'll try my damndest to get sub 3 for both of us.
And yes beders has taken on a big task here, and is doing a fine job off it. Just hope he is getting himself sorted out as well as all of us. I'm in no doubt that every thing is in order, but thanks any way
Off for a 10 mile fast run in the rain. I have 16 mile planned for tomorrow.
no worries fast legs, been tied up a couple of nights (ooeer missus) I mean busy !! have sent your details up to HQ just waiting for Tracey to confirm swap will then post on forum.
Bit suprised i haven't had more messages from the 8 other people who have a number waiting for them, may wait till monday then try contacting them via RW as otherwise will be offering their number to the next one down on thursday !!!
got out for another little jog thursday and the chiropractor reckons if things go ok should be able to get out and start running properly by end of July. may mean the Abingdon is more of a 'run round and smell the roses' marathon than a race, but determined to be their to enjoy it !!
hope everyone's training is going ok, thanks btw for those who've taken names off the list, means the ones left on are more likely to get a number
Hi beders, hope you enjoyed being tied up. Thanks for sending my details off to HQ.
Did a nice 10.47 miles this morning, managed to do it in 75 mins. Thats 2 mins faster than I normally do it in. And the hills seemed higher .
FL give beders a break matehe's working is nutts of for us listen to old timer he told you it's all systems go you are starting to get like old mother hen if you think today was tough you wait till i get down tomorrow
HI BEDERS YOU EARNED YOUR BREAK,ignore FL he tends to flap alot
Thanks for organising this- please could I join the list for 2 places? Myself and Rachel M. thank you very much, Charlie
There you go fast legs, number swapped , no worries I get excited about races too !!! That's pretty damm fast for a hilly 10+ miler, wouldn't mind a flat 10 mile PB around that time !
your's has gone up to HQ marathonman61, so you've got the Abingdon and the Snowdon !! mmmm reckon I much prefer the flatter one ...and it's not Snowdon
well managed 2 jogs last week, may even go out for another one later today, only very slow but at least I'm running again
beders, your a star mate. I owe you and Old Timer big time. Thanks very much for all your hard work. It is strange that no one has been in touch with you yet. There are a good few on here that I'm sure would take your hand off for a number!
Great news that your up and running again. Hope we can meet on the big day, there is defo a few beers coming your way. Thanks mate.
I did a 16 mile run with Marathonman61 today. 1:55:38 for the 16 mile. very happy with that.
blimey you're both a bit quick, reckon you'll have to hang around a fair old time if you want to see me come over the finish line !
will be trying to get out for another run tomorrow but it defo won't be 7.13 min miling !!
Quick question: what happens now? I see it says number swapped, but do I get any confirmation of this?
Yippee - just had confirmation form the race organiser that they have got my entry!!
Thanks again Beders, hope your training is going ok and hope you have a lift home from the marathon and a day off after as it sounds like there will be a few beers coming your way!!
Good luck to everyone either with your training or getting a place, and to all those who have dropped out through injury, I was in the same boat last year so know how you feel
Like you Custard Cream, I've had e-mail confirmation that the race organisers have my entry and I've got a place. Beders, do you want to amend the list for me and Custard Cream?
Once again, cheers for all your help, you're a star.
PS Just had a look at the Abingdon Marathon main thread, there's talk on there of people going sub 3hrs. I could probably do that on a bike, but there's no way I'll be running at that pace!
