  • nope, complaint process in progress and a letter to my MP

I probalby won't get a reply now he cant claim the call on expenses

  • Ginger loon I ended up with something similar to shaken baby syndrome due to a horse...i hadn't fallen off but because I'd clung on as if my life depended on it while the bloody thing bucked and twisted for 2 mins, my brain apparently hit the inside of my skull repeatedly and i ended up not being able to see properly for nearly a year. I had to keep going back to hospital for check-ups. The specialist there said I couldn't have anything wrong with me because I didnt hit my head. he also was an idiot
  • blimey lou-lou, I need you to get on baby ned if you can stay on a rodeo. bastid got me off in less than a minute (got a rather good injury story to go with that one too image)

soudns like you would have been better *dismounting* after all that. hopefully  you'e made a full recovery now

doctors have no idea how important not falling off is image

Flippin eck... that's been going on a good couple of years now GL!

Hope you get a resolution soon luv

  • would you believe it, I got the dates confused, after multiple cancellations, lost MRI scans, turning up for appointment to be turned away becauser they couldnt find my scan results etc etc etc ( I have seen my surgeon twice in a year)

and they discharge me for missing an appointment !!!!!!!!

  • hence the complaint and pissed off of essix letter to my mp
  • Yeah I'm fine now but have developed a rather good technique for avoiding such injury which involves me throwing myself off the side at the first sign of trouble! I have got a rather lovely black bruise  accessorised with a large red scab  from being bitten by one of the horses at work today (I work with racehorses and the fit ones can be a bit...highly strung!)
  • try a highly strung welsh cob image
  • Nah, thoroughbreds are built a bit smaller! Less to kick/buck/rear/piss off with!
  • Worst running related was a ruptured cruciate & compressed fat pad of the knee just from misjudging a box standard curb edge.

Worst other 6 broken fingers & two broken thumbs & fractured knee cap  from moped crash.

  • Breaking my hand at the start of a climbing expedition and carrying on climbing (not very well) with it bust. In between climbs / belaying I kept it in my pocket so no-one could tell... it had swelled up to a comedy hand image

3 days later I went to hospital and got it sorted.

  • I slipped off some wet oily steps at work while carrying a heavy toolbox. Thankfully I kept passing out during the 20 minute wait for an ambulance so can't remember the pain.

Got to hospital where the Dr. told me he could not examine my leg properly due to be being in pain when he attempted to move it. Left me in a cubcle for a few hours and then tried again. I made sure I didn't react when he moved it so clung to the bars of the bed (which probably still have the marks from me squeezing), after examining me he discharged me saying that there couldn't be much wrong as "this time I hadn't complained where as before I wouldn't let him touch it".

Went to see my GP the next day who was the Dr. for a rugby team, he phoned a consultant friend who operated the next day (definetly who you know to skip the waiting list), I had cracked a chunk off the top of my tibia where it makes contact with the femur.

Have a video somewhere but no photos!

  • God bless the NHS.

It's not what you pay but who you know!
