I nearly gave up reading after line 1 as the author hyphenated 'triathlon'.

Even if you get out of the water with all your limbs, you fall of a bike at any speed and you can get a very nasty graze.

If triathletes tend to be older than runners maybe some are simply dying of old age.
On the other hand ive driven along lots of roads where there have been fatalities too.
Im actually surprised more people dont drown in some of these mass starts!
