And apologies if that last post was a bit confusing; the "Quote" function works differently on this forum, and I've clearly not yet mastered the skill. I wasn't meaning to put words into your mouth, Daz.
From a three way exchange between me, Madeleine and the website supremo, I think Brett already had it under control, as you'd expect.
Still not sure exactly what 'back shortly' means, though, or in what form the forum will re-emerge. Glistening, shiny, plump? Or a puny 'back-to-basics' stripling, like Voldemort at the beginning and end of the Harry Potter series?
Does anyone know the nature of the vulnerability? The forum (unusually) allowed local hosting of attachments and images, which is often a way that hackers exploit to get malicious stuff onto a remote server,so at very least they should force all images and attachments to be remote hosted.
anyway, all I want to say is that the weather is looking GLORIOUS for Sandstone Trail on Sunday!
... yes but then I've a whole weekend ahead of me trying to work out what to carry/ drink, whether to run in shades(and fall over in the woods as a result)...etc!
one "legacy" of the hack is that my work's internet filter is now blocking the FRA forum as a "Malicious Website" so I may only be able to access from home for a while
meanwhile... Sandstone Trail was ace yesterday - I just about cracked 3 hours, which I'm well chuffed with DM27 - I see you beat me easily and CHHH took the win, so you must be quite pleased too!?
So was the four passes from borrowdale a great run, despite the fact one stolly set off an hour before he should, and we copped the rap when the marshall at sty head got a bit arsy about runners not setting off at the right time.
Despite all was a great day. Being forcefed ricepud, snickers, sausages even, by caring checkpoint station volunteers had an interesting effect on digestive systems. Not so good for my running partner right behind me on the next big climb out of buttermere! Saw lots of RAB MMers too....
It's still a great forum with a large number of contributors and a vast accumulation of threads and posts on all things connected with running on the fells. Not sure where it's gone today, though!

Sandstone Trail for me too - along with 14 others from Cheshire Hash House Harriers. Some or all of us may be in team rig
Hope to see you there
I will be trotting out in my red Fell Ponies vest
I made the mistake of wearing the purple last year, which of course clashes with West Cheshire

bit surprised there aren't more FRA refugees on here wanting to discuss burning issues of the day, eg:
Edale Skyline champs race
English XC winning team member testing positive for EPO

Just as good for tomorrow! - Four passes LDWA here we come...
FRA forum now back
...and looking very different and smart.
See: http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/
All the historical info and threads appear to have been rescued.
Thanks to Runner's World forum for offering the FRA refugees this back-up opportunity.
Server error 502 - i hope not a sign of deep seated legacy of the hack.

It seems the "old place" is running again.....
Yes, fantastic day out on the Sandstone. Great weather, good organisation, and pleased with my result and the team's
Happy tiger today
FRA forum appears to be down.
I used to post regularly on there, but work PC won't let me any more! It seems to have gone very quiet though, over the last few months.

There doesn't seem to be a lot of fell runners on here, that's for sure. Maybe I'll just have to get back on the FRA one via just my phone, eh?!
Mick you can talk to me all day about fell running
Have entered the Welsh 1000m fell race in June, BEST fell race in Wales bar none.
Get yourselves over to http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/ every once in a while!
It's back up and working, and there's always a friendly welcome from fell runners.
Over 19,000 threads and nearly 600,000 posts, so most subjects covered!
