2 minute sprint down the hill in direction of Notre Dame. Flipping well hurt after that race, I can tell you.
Dashed across the road, taking my life in my own hands, jumped into a cab. Cab journey took about 10 mins. Geezer initially tried to tell me it would take 20! >=-0 Would definitely have missed the train in that case.
I found it a weird race. I'm sure the guy I saw by the side of the road was dead (had the defib's on him), a surreal and unpleasant experience. Due to the congestion I ended up treating it as a training run.
I remember getting a bit bored about a mile from Versailles, about the time we were running down the road and there were traffic calming measures, just before the downhill I think. Starting singing to myself ("When the Saints are marching in"!)
Also on one of the downhills, my number came off and and I turned back to get it, very hairy with hundreds of runners coming downhill towards me!
We were staying round teh Pigalle area, and found it difficult to find a place that served a decent pint. Eventually found the Bombardier on Sunday, wished we'd found it on Saturday!
I think there's a bar up that way called Corcoran's as well.
Yeah, I had to skip the Metro and get a cab too, walked straight onto the train with time to spare but would have missed it otherwise.
Point to point races are a bit odd, regardless of the distance you feel like you've only gone half way. M-C will be different though, the top of the hill is a mental turning point, you feel like you're on the way back!
23841 I think. Just the one piccie cos my number came off too.
Talking of hairy moments. That bloke at the start has been giving me nightmares since Sunday!
Ran just over ten miles a bit too fast in the rain last night. I really hurt today. No after effects from the race though. I reckon racing Ems in the bois afterwards with the best part of a bottle of rosé in me got rid of the lactic acid. Was a really good fun mummy Sunday pm!!
Ah right. An eventfull weekend all in all then? I got back to Waterloo and onto the tube and couldn't find my car keys! Got back to car park still no luck so rang wife to come out with spare key (40 mile drive) sorrow she says I've had 3 glasses of wine I'm not driving anywhere! Spent the night in yet another hotel.

Generally found French bar/ waiting staff (with one notable exception) to be rude, surly g1ts. One particular proprietress was a mardy old bint.
Lost my ticket on the RER on the way back (what a cattle truck!) and ended up leaping teh barrier at Notre D. Je suis naughty! :-)
