There is not a whole lot of anything in Roth itself. Zuppy went to the swimming pool when we were there and talkign to someone asked them if there was a cinema in the "Dorf" (village) and was not so politely told that Roth is a "Stadt" (town/city)......
roth bike USED to be about 5km short but they've changed the course since then. i measured it about 110.5 miles IIRC, so it's not shorter than IMA which I had as 110. transitions are short and save a lot of time
getting there from Manchester is a piece of pi55, we flew to Nurnberg via Frankfurt, easy transit, never saw the bike til we got to Nurnberg, friendly clean airports and at the other end got a taxi to Roth, was about 50 euros for 3 of us with 2 bike, it was a mini bus taxi and I still have his card.
kelly did exactly the same 3 days later as she came out on the Sat and went back on the Tuesday to save a bit of holiday.
The only reason you need a car once in town is to drive the course if you want to and get back from racking the bikes on the Sat but a taxi would do as well.
IMDE is 1000m of climb and a net downhill (the bit from T1 at the lake to the river-side is downhill. T2 is at the river-side, so you never climb back up that bit...)
both courses are fast, the climbs are short and sweet but steep, the loop at Roth has about 30k of downhill gradually over the back half before you get to the killer climb, there is a great explanation of the roth course over on tritalk from 2008 that Jurgen did, have a look for it, sorry can't be bothered.
OK - answer from the organisers reference the reduced entry fee for groups of more than 10 individuals - they want a list of names, plus all the entry fees in one lump sum.
We will need to still enter on line when it opens, then send a list to Helga in the org office, and as said already the lump sum payment of (X times 280 euros) needs to be deposited also.
Relay LJS, swimmer (definite) - SP, cyclist (definite) TL, Runner (definite) = So sorry if we let LJS down, his a bit quick in the water.
Maybe Plum Trogs Kanga Hope Cougie retire??? No way!! slowtwitcher WildWill ... (if Mrs WW lets me) Garr kittenkat (but also maybe not) Meldy - a maybe only depending on funds at the time Bedders Foggy Orangecannon Arctic-Lady (I go where Pirates go!)
So this is the last list we had....
Erm.... does this mean we gotta get organized to pay in one go? or they can go about and tick-off the names from the list as they get the 280?
So, we need to get absolute commitment from at least ten people by a set date and a volunteer to front up to pay the group entry fee deposit, which presumably gets refunded when all the named individuals have completed their own entries. If more Pirates join in at a later date can we add their names to the original group list so they benefit from reduced fees too?
This is on my list to do having had topull out due to shit finances a couple of years ago - thing is so is TLD if its on and this one will probably still run in 2011

Unless its like really short and its all in like 40 miles or so.
No YH ? Noooo !
Yes, brevity is a quality of both Roth and the first Big Woody. It's like an IM, only smaller.
And it has wave starts. 'bout time Candy passed comment on that
i should have said, helpfully short too!

Usually when enter a race you have to pay when you register - is Wrath different?
I am thinking I will do this ...
Roth is offering reduced entry fee for groupsof more than 10, bos1, but see IW's post for required procedure.
