LB, completely agree on the triage issue. I think some do it because they like to feel more knowledgable than they actually are - it's a power thing. Personally I didn't feel I was paid enough for the liability that comes with attempting to diagnose someone without the training or qualifications!

Kwilter, that's unbelievable!! She shouldn't have commented on your results at all - if there's anything there that needs discussing, it's up to her to book you in with the doctor or nurse but nothing more.

I'm really lucky with my surgery at the moment, the receptionists there are lovely

Aitch, I'm not sure how your surgery do it but at every one I've been registered with I've been booked in with the nurse for routine stuff (pill checks etc.), and the doctor for acute symptoms. I'm not suggesting nurses aren't capable of dealing with a lot of health problems, but with something like unexplained dizzy spells it would have made a lot more sense to give you a doctor's appointment, and sooner rather than later.

I actually mentioned it to my physio...who said 'oh yeah I can fix that' as there is a special maneuvour of the head that can be done.

I had this problem a few years ago and was sent to a neuro specialist who used something I think is called the Epley manouvre. Worked with no more problems at all.

I used to go dizzy and my vision go sort of cloudy when I stood up too quick, even fainted once.  Doc told me it was low blood pressure and harmless (unless I started fainting all over the place of course).  Happened more when I was tired and ill too.  Unfortunately I seem to have grown out of the problem.

I was a bit dizzy after bike ride last night, but that's not uncommon for me.
