  • 's OK SVT, as a competitor you have enough to be thinking about, so anything I can do to ease your next 6 years of training just let me know!!
  • Oh, I'm going to be 40 that year too.

I might schedule my mid life crisis around this then too! image
  • NGL - I'll let you know my race number in five years' time or so for monitorign purposes.

KatieJane - welcome aboard, fellow 1975er.

  • P.S. just for anyone reading this and thinking how ridiculous it is... yes, I really am planning a race this far out and yes, I realise how ridiculous it is. image
  • image Seems reasonable

  • I'll be 40 that year too..... 75'ers
  • Yay - that's 3 of us so far!
  • Right, NGL needs split times for his spreadsheet. Everyone's got a good idea what time they'll do by now, surely.

17 hour cut-off? Let me see...

    Swim   1:46:09
    Bike     8:23:34
    Run     6:50:17

  • SVT what about tranistions? Or have you included them in the bike and run times?
  • SVT - I think a clue to the verbification of your name might be copntained in this thread! image
  • melli - that's what I thought!
  • Well that's charming that is. No-one wanted to do it when I did it. Harumph. Just cos I did it doesn't mean it's easy you know - don't be lulled into a false sense of security! image

It'll be my 50th birthday year....

  • You aren't 50 till the following year, don't go adding any extra's on us!! Especially as I am older than you. image

Min I have a feeling SVT might be on his own for this one too, the majority of pirates don't seem to want to do this course as its too hard.

  • Yeah, bunch of wimps. Doing easy things like Doubles instead...
  • Oh - will I be 51? I'm rubbish at maths - I might do it, but its way tooooooooo early for me to say!
  • No Min you will be 49, possibly 48 depending on the date of the race, we aren't 50 until 2016.
  • Min - it'll be a great way of waving goodbye to your 40s, and reminding yourself that whever else may come in life, you'll always be younger than Crashie. image
  • Min a thousand apologies, it will be our 50th year, we will be 49 but our 50th birthday will be our next one. Feck me I'll be old then. You'll still be a goddess, but I'll just be old!!

Mouse beat me to the boinging!

Roll up, roll up, less than five years to go...

  • Heard there was a thread for Lanza 2015. Was acvtually planning on doing this when I'm 50, which will be the following year.

However, this will mark 10 years of Ironmanning so why the hell not?

  • When do the entries open?
  • I might even have a place to stay already..... must see how many of us we can fit there.

I'm tapering for it already image

  • oarsum!

  • Oh goody I get abeach holiday at long last image even if it is five years away.
  • Probably wont be called Ironman in 2015 either as it looks like they may go non M-Dot as WTC attempt to take over the running of all events and I doubt Ken at La Santa will let them.
  • some talk about it moving to Tenerife isn't there?? plus a new 1/2 IM Challenge Fuerteventura next year as well to add to the mix
  • I heard it was going full distance to Fuerta Ventura?

Not sure how peeps could commit to IM 4.5 years away - who knows what will happen between then and now? image
  • I'm only flipping doing it next year 'cos it's supposed to be the last one - *note to self - swim some - bike some more - run a bit.......image
