The seven-time Tour winner, who currently lies third in this year's race, has secured backing from US electronics retailer RadioShack. Armstrong will compete for the team as a cyclist, runner and triathlete in events around the world.
Sprint, Oly. 1/2Iron or Ironman events do you think?

I doubt it would be IM events, the commitments would be too much for him to be able to then do the major cycling events, Most of the European IM's clash with the TDF and a lot of the US ones are in August just after TDF.
I cant see him competing in them and not wanting to be competitive, I know he used to be a swimmer, before biking and can run a 3 hr marathon and is not too bad on the bike BUT would he really want to do an IM straight after TDF etc.
I noticed that as well!!
I suspect he'll move to IM after his lastest tdef stint (2nd retirement phase) but i think he'll always be competitive and perhaps do some olys. He was a v good young triathlete.
Interesting to think he may compete at IM at some stage.
JD-i agree re. counterproductive upper muscle development involved with swimming and overuse injury risk with running.
M...eldy-not bothered about his arse but it would be interesting to meet and chat with him at a race.
i think i will probably die of boredom if lance goes in to IM! it was bad enough when he ran a marathon and there was a lot of crazy speculation about him doing a 2:15.
i'd rather see excellent pro triathletes getting the coverage.
Meldy - you think he's cute? You've got DrM, Rosey and HH doing Roth. No contest!
Imagine you beat him out the water in a triathlon, then you get to sh*t yourself on the bike wondering when...
Whoosh! There he goes!
Am I the only one who managed to quote this before she edited?
and he said that he was only 2nd quickest on the bike - oh the shame of it! - 'cos he had a 5 min break to evacuate his gut contents.......bowked like a good 'un apparently
very good Smithy.
I'm still busy with the first one in the list.
there's no need to use bold Barley; as soon as you posted it I knew exactly what you would have edited!
you would be higher on my list than lance armstrong.
though he might be ok with the head cut off.
