I prefer smartypants as a name, reminds me of chocolate.
Melli- well said, it was either go longer or go more extreme- Norseman for example or more silly- doing the swim in boxing gloves the bike on a penny farthing and the run in stilettos.
KK- it's that post race slump, I always anticiapte it and try to have the next thing up my sleeve. August will be a rest month, went for a gentle swim yesterday and although I feel right as rain when I am doing nothing, once I started to swim I could tell there was tiredness there.
Thanks for your offer as well, everyone is being amazingly kind, and induging a sad old woman who "could've been a contender" (I never got over not getting to the 1500m olympic final,in 1984, winning gold, marrying seb Coe etc etc, though the dream soured when he became a Tory MP, wouldn't have happened if he'd been my husband)

Monique/Melli. Thank you very much for taking the time. Contrary to previous comments, I do understand.. now. I'm not team-competitive, but very self -competitive, the principles carry over many activities ~ especially work, for me. A multiple IM is not my bag, but I respect the desire to push the limits. I think the guy in the clown suit at IMCH took the slightly less insane path though
Go for it; you're quite nuts. However I believe we stil have a rattle or two and Mrs.Waff has been wibbling about a 'holiday' in Cornwall next June.
It wasn't until a couple of months ago that I found the words that really articulated the reasons why I wanted to do an IM. It's just a pity they aren't my own rather than JFK announcing the Apollo missions nearly 50 years ago.
"We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not only because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too."
If someone could explain to me why I did TBW, then Lanza and now Roth and know that I will then be looking for something more challenging, and why i am *not* lurking on the Breacons thread, why my b/f thinks I am hardcore when he can do a 12 hour IM, because I like the look of Norseman and Toughguy, well then, I'd love for them to tell me!
Have pencilled it in my diary to crew for you Mon, and have started to brush up on my spreadsheet skills!
Cheers Fraggle, I am hoping the entries get up to speed for it, now They need a certain number for it to go ahead, can't think what's stopping people...

Oooh, oooh - do that one! I love the idea of watching a stillettoed IM.
There is a guy who lives locally to me who rides his penny farthing to work every day. Its a newish bike, made in Poland.
I also saw guys off-road unicycling in Delamere forest. That might be worth a thought?
What about doing the swim with a mermaid tail? That should be within your kit-making skills.
I'll shut up now.

But if we can get along to shout some support, of course we will be.

Oh good - he's outed himself at last!
Mon - I think doing an IM without using anything that wasn't available in 1978 might be fun.
Hello Mr Waff!
It wasn't until a couple of months ago that I found the words that really articulated the reasons why I wanted to do an IM. It's just a pity they aren't my own rather than JFK announcing the Apollo missions nearly 50 years ago.
