Lake Anna, kirb's race. It's even "official", unlike the pountless gaylord UK one in a swimming pool. Piece of piss though, if you want to big it up and attention seek you'd be better off throwing your pet tortoise off a railway bridge
No, sadly lost world's most obscure and pointless record the following year, when some bloke did the run (something like) 90 minutes quicker than I had. And to add insult to injury, he did most of it in bare feet. Nobody likes a show off. And somebody else did it with one leg (which proves my point about what a piece of piss triple ironmans are!)
Anyhoo Gom you should really do Lake Anna, if for nothing other than for the closed roads and the poker game
True, she might divorce you for being a gaylord. Single - double - triple; where's the pirate spirit?! That's almost as feeble as doing a year of sprint and a year of olympic. You should go straight to the deca or double-deca, next
You should organise a decadeca carl. It can't be difficult to put on, and will be shorter than some of those "fray bentos self transcendence races" that the annoying hippies from Run & Become organise
You had better be very, VERY nice to Mrs.Gom. I'd make a start with breakfast in bed if i were you!!
But for goodness sake....make that breakfast in bed AFTER you've done your early morning triple tri training madness. She'll not thank you for a 4.30am must-get-a-marathon-in-before-work "treat".
Just so that we are clear, I have entered any triples and at the moment am not going to do so. I was just interested to find out wht triple events are out there....
And as for Mrs GOM, I have never enetered a race without talking to her before hand and making sure that she is ok with what I am doing.
I read this thread yesterday and was shocked that such a thing as a triple IM existed and that people had done it and survived. And here's me rather scared of a silly little marathon. This clearly played on my mind because I dreamt about it all night, though the tri of my dreams did involved in-line skating on grass, swimming in caves and lots of paper money scattered about. No, I don't know either.
As a matter of interest, what's a good time for a triple IM? Is it measured in days?

Blimey GOM ! You must like pain and discomfort more than Max Mosley !
Before you make a decision, did you make any promises to Mrs Gom about not doing any for a while
But you're clearly mental
Do you still hold the course (and world) run record, Candy?
No pressure about the swim, then, GOM...
¦oD
ok, who stole GOM's login?

Can do relays, too!
Is Lake Anna the one in the states?
GOM... how much of the red wine had you consumed before starting this thread??

<ahem> breakfast tray, obviously
Though she's unlikely to want the other kind of treat at 4.3am either

oooo er! Ultra-tri meets Wive Swap!
I'm sure you are both nuts, but bloody good luck if you do enter!
That's a terrible trade - don't take it GOM Though might be good endurance training
good luck all!
