I will keep you posted Hill1, It still hurts just walking about so feeling pretty fed up at the mo. If you cant get motivated for you then run one for me! I will be spectating at Dronfield cheering Alex on, my sister in law may be using my number.
I'm new to this forum as its a last ditch attempt to get into the Sheffield Half Marathon,
Our team has run every year for over 5 years raising hundreds for Cancer Research UK. Our dilly dallying in entering has cost us this year (clearly gone are the days you could enter on the day!!). If anyone has 1, 2 or 3 entries spare, please could you contact me ASAP, obviously will pay full up price!! Many thanks, Matthew matthunt66@hotmail.com
Guys and girls you might get lucky and be able to get a number off here and hopefully will. But please don't leave your e-mail address where anyone can see it. If there are bad people about you might have a very bad day and ever be spamed to death or even worse get your e-mail hacked (i'm speaking from experiance). There is a message me function on this website, just leave it so people can.
I'm a bit of a rookie at this and clearly made a schoolboy error. I can't find any 'edit' button, is there any way of getting rid of my email address??
Should appear at the bottom of the post on the right handside, might be worth going into your member settings and seeing what you have active or on ignore. Any problems editing and sure it won't be that bad just throught best to say it, becuase there are bigger nutter's than me on the internet.
Hi All, I'm also trying to get a place (because I left it too late!!!!!!!!!!). I've done the last two and really enjoyed them. I've also started to collect for charity too, so I'f anyone can't take part please message me and I will reimburse your entry fee.
im watching Helen. Although i do wish you the best of luck with the outcome because it is a fantastic event and i wouldnt want anyone to miss out through injury.
Right been to the physio yesterday and he was really thorough and tested my shin with ultra sound, nothing happened so he thinks it is soft tissue damage, which he then treat with more ultrasound. He has given me loads of stretches and excercises to do and I have got to try a test run in a week to see how everything is. I know I wont get my mileage in enough before sheffield now to make it a race but at least if I can have a steady trot round I can soak in the atmosphere, early days but at least he doest think its a stress fracture. Off swimming tonight!
How come they've cut back onthe entries this year - why 5500 last year and limit to 2000 this year - this may have been explained previously somewhere but there are obviously still loads of peeps wanting to run this race.
Are they taking the fun-runner element away perhaps?
Thanks Angelic, I have just been and swum 24 lengths my legs were like jelly after and my shin is a bit sore now but at least I am moving.
The race limit was definately 5500 Kenders, it been the same for a while now, numbers are correct on Sheffield Half website just wrong on the link through Runners World, its a really busy race and always fills up early, it has a wonderful atmosphere, they are still running the fun run around the stadium.
Yep, you're right - c'mon RW - get the figures right with 5500! My home run and I've missed it. Still, there is the Great yorkshire Run and Lord Mayors runs in the city - and lots more around Yorkshire/Derbyshire so all in all - plenty for everyone!
Like many others, me and a friend have missed the entry despite being loyal runners for the last 4 years. If anyone knows of any drop outs, please let me know - I'll obviously refund the entry fee.

Hi all, really enjoyed this last year so I'm in again - my sons at the Uni so I plan to get a pint from him afterwards. (optimist).
Great Stadium finish and a surprising amount of support, can't wait as it's my first race of the year.
