This is my first post on the RW forum - any advice would be much appreciated.
Last summer, I finally got round to having an operation to trim some damage cartilage on my knees, and once healed this gave me the opportunity to take up running at the back end of last year.
I've had a couple of pairs of shoes, the first were Reeboks which were just the trainers I happened to have at the time. I decided to get more serious, and went to a specialist retailer where they anaysed my style on a running machine. I was told I was mildly over-pronating, and after trying several shoes, I ended up with a pair of Asics Gel 1080s. I've now done about 250 miles on them (about 25 miles/week) and the insides of my knees (i.e. where my two knees touch) are getting really stiff and painful. Tried lots of ice, running on grass, resting etc. Nothing seems to be helping, and I'm at the stage where I'd like to increase my weekly mileage - simply not possible until I sort this prolem out.
So after that long preamble, does anyone know if there's any connection between stability shoes and the sort of problem I'm having or have any other suggestions?
