Hi Kathy, feel free to start a new thread. As you say this one started before the 2010 race and as you can see doesn't get a lot of attention now.
Hope your training goes well. Edinburgh is a great city so I'm sure you'll enjoy the weekend. The marathon itself has been a bit hit or miss over the years but the last time I did it in 2012 the organisation was much better than previously so hopefully that has continued.
I'm not going to be there, don't plan to be back in the UK before August. winter has arrived in Dubai, chilly run in 20 degrees today and we even had rain! Haven't seen rain in months! Was nice for a change!
WR, don't think any of the old crowd are doing Edi this year. Caz and Mr CS are doing Manchester. Have tickets for Commonwealth Games so will be in Scotland in July.
Merry Xmas, DR. Still check on here without really posting anything. You need to get on Facebook to find out what's happening with the Edi crew.
Have had a good running year racing wise, 9 halfs and 2 maras. And a good for age for London next year.
About to reach the age of retirement but only cutting down to 4 days from January. Would like to do something different over the next few months.Quite fancy cricket in South Africa towards the end of 2015 but notice England may be playing Pakistan in your part of the world in November which is obviously a bit closer.
Would be good to meet up over a non-alcoholic Guinness if that happens.
Hi GE, that's great running from you. Had knee probs first few months and only short runs. Now training for the Dubai marathon in Jan and a 30k mountain race in Oman in Feb. Not sure after that, the season ends here in May as it gets too hot after that.
i live within 5 mins of the cricket stadium although I haven't been yet, would be dry there but plenty of bars for afters!
I am now on facebook and would love to catch up with u guys there, will send you a private message.
Ho Ho Holy crap someone posting on the Edinburgh thread!
Good to see you're still out there WR. Er, I mean DR and good to see you're still running. My mate lives in Dubai and keeps pestering me to run the marathon but it may be a few years off for me
Was thinking about you the other day and your run streak. My mate completed a streak of 10 on Boxing Day. Not that impressive until you realise it's a streak of 10 years! Through wind hail rain and shine and his fair share of injuries!

Thanks, Goldeagle
Edinburgh was my second choice (after London!) but I am looking forward to the experience.
I knew you boys would take the bait
Start a new thread? Where's the fun in that?
Anybody doing Edinburgh this year?
Yes, WR. There is even a new thread for 2014.

Tanner is doing the half in Edi
What's the point in going to the Commonwealth games if Jess isn't going to be there?
It's a point well made WR, but as we've already got the tickets might as well make the effort.
Very true, I'm sure you'll have a great time.
Merry Xmas everyone (if anyone's still out there!)

Merry Christmas Dave, you don't want to do a winter marathon, it can get as low as 18 degrees here in Jan.
have a great 2015 and hope you're as speedy as ever!
Cheers DR and the same to you. Wrap up warm now!

Pretty impressive eh?
Did you see Ron Hills streak documented recently? 50 years!
happy new year!!
HNY DR
See you next year!
I've missed the entry date for the 2015 Edinburgh marathon! if anyone has a place they'd like to transfer please let me know!
Probably the wrong thread, we ran it in 2010!!
must have been good if you are still talking about it!
