You've got it really. The course profile is on the web. After the first small climb then it's mostly downhill until a smallish dip, then flat again before the final "Sting" at mile 12. Macc is tougher, but plenty will attempt both.
Will try and get a Garmin profile download sorted before the race.
Cheers
There is a thread on here from last year's race, and the course profile is on the club's website i think. I found it hard work after Macc the week before
Oh no, I did not notice the time limit, I'll have to get a move on round the course or everyone will have gone home before I finish the race..........now that has happened a few times in other races.
Oh dear Snail....me too.....On one occasion even the person taking the finish times had gone.....taking the finish line with him so I didn't know where to stop......
Same as me, one of them was an off road race and they never even checked to see if I was still out on the course, needless to say we never did the race again.
I'm going to have to get a move on in this race as we have the youngest with us and she wants to go to Harper Adams Uni opend day after the race! Talk about rushing around
Comments
They have a time limit of 2.5 hours.......that's me out........
Oh well.....maybe next year........
So you might be last again then Snail!!
I don't know much about the rules & regs, but you'd think it would be compulsary to have a sweep of some kind on ALL races.
I quite like being followed by a sweep car or bike.......I feel safe I'm not going to get lost!!
Good race this one if i remember right.
Not too many hilly bits and even the 'sting in the tail' isnt that bad.
Fancy this but the time limit puts me off I don't mind being in the last few but no one at finish who would give me mmy medal!!
Yes she already entered
I'll have to enter on the day
Looking forward to this one.
At least this year there is no xc on the previous day
Just having a look on the website and the it says that the finish will remain open until 12:00 OR the course is clear.
I'm in, aiming for 2 hours but you never know. Never had a DNF, not starting now.
2hrs 10 you wont have any problems as there will be loads behind you.
Yes BS i dont like getting my hair wet either!
Looking forward to this one now
My legs are fine at the moment
Certainly wont be doing all 20 next year!
Just a one off challenge i set myself(think it will be 30 races in total by the end of the year)
Well done mugpunter.
See you all on Sunday.
How Did everyone get on?
It's the first year in 4 years that I've missed this one , Usually do the quarter.
Bit hard now I'm living own South to get back for some the races.
I stupidly had a night out on Friday and still felt a bit fragile this morning.
Struggled round a lot slower than i'd hoped.
Must remember that alcohol and running dont mix
hiya caz,
managed just under 1.39 today so I was well chuffed with that, conditions were good for running but that hill's still not pleasant at 12 miles!!
you'll have to get this one in the diary for next year.
