Only mention of any IM on BBC Sport website is some stupid BBC reporter doing Barca Challenge. No mention of Kona having ever taken place, nevermind the fact that a Brit won the womens!
He's not JJ. Was just frustration coming through with the BBC as an entity. We don't as a nation get a whole lot of national sporting success and I was just annoyed that someone who is representing Britain, putting in a huge amount of effort etc and winning gets no recognition.
To Mr BBC reporter person, I apologise sincerely for my remark that you are 'stupid'. In retrospect I should in fact be thanking you because by your actions you will be bringing wider national attention to the intense physical competition that is Ironman. I hope you can accept my apology and I wish you the best of luck in you worthwhile endeavour. Regards Hoofin
And the BBC Sports webpage still doesn't have a word about Chrissie or even Kona. Disgraceful - not only a triple World Champ, not only the sole British woman to win Hawaii, she's the ONLY Brit to win there. I did hear 2 female reporters on radio 5Live this morning mention her and that she'd won, one asked the other exactly what it was you have to do in an Ironman and then asked, Chrissie who? What's her name again? And she broke Paula Newby-Fraser's 17-year old course record too!
i remember last year and the year before people being annoyed that the bbc site wasn't updated quickly. i think they're just slow on sundays with minor sports like triathlon.
lance racing next year. should be fun especially if he takes a pro start. wonder if phil graves will ride away again next year. will be interesting to read what he has to say about the race.
According to Kona news thread, Brits had warned Graves all week about his riding flat whilst training out on the cycle route and to take it 'easier' on the day !!!
Nothing about the withdrawl of Bella Bayliss during the 2nd run sector

So next time someone sniggers at the Pirates, remind them of our Kona tally.
and my cousin qualified too - so that's nearly a pirate
Morning all, Universalsports.com still have a feed going, only 25 minutes to go til cutoff.
1641 finishers so far
That is typical Hoofin, Chrissie definitely doesn't get the recognition she deserves in this country.
Great result Rosey, well done

Fantastic result Rosey. Congrats.
Poor show isn't Wolf? Chrissie has been nominated for Sportswoman of the Year here. You have to register but get voting people!
