White, with "to run is to be free" or "run free" or perhaps even "run for free" in Welsh (?which - help! Welsh speaker, please) on front and a map 3 years out of date on the back.
Crumbs, this is a busy thread. Just taken a few minutes to read through all the comments so far. Re: cut off times ... that made me smile. Being a slower runner, I was standing at the back of the start group this year and we couldn't hear anything the starter was saying ... so, even if there was a cut-off time at Waunfawr, the people it would be most likely to affect would not have been aware of it!!
Brer - I'm doing Clowne too.
Went out for my first proper post-SNOD run today ... legs felt heavy and tired, but otherwise ok.
TR - on 2009 thread, I was told that the translation was "run free" or "run loose" (the latter a comment on Immodium usage among marathon runners??).
BritNick who had gone ahead I caught up about mile 8 or 9, and upon hearing that we were a minute behind schedule at that point, his morale crumbled.
It is a trifle dismissive and disingenuous of my <cough, splutter> athletic prowess. I was fully in control and progressing at my maximum speed at the time. I did not disintegrate in any way. I carried on at the speed I could muster and I did not faulter as you powered into the distance with nary a look of concern back in my direction. (I wasn't mortally wounded by your callous neglect and disregard for my wellbeing, by the way. I soldiered on like the trouper I am.) I was only 15 minutes behind you at the finish. That's 0.25 hours, or using a bit of creative rounding, ZERO hours behind you.
To cut a long story short, I finished at the same time as you, in spite of my heroic efforts on the previous weekend. Dashed impressive if you ask me. I thank you.
Continuing from the 2009 thread, yes, I saw the Lycra-clad red biped and blue biped (who's to say they weren't aliens?) on the first descent. I did wonder 'why' but it raised a laugh with me. I pointed an accusing finger at them as I ran past, just in case they were alien and a member of security was in the vicinity.
I was jesting and trying to raise a titter, T Rex. No eggshells or contriteness are warranted. I'm 'avin' a laaaaaaarf!!!!!!!! I await your humorous retort with anticipation.
Gadzooks, what did I miss out on this year?! Obviously a T-shirt and some dubious goings on at a karaoke bar. Nice reports T-Rex.
Last year I spent my evening after the race with my feet up in front of a roaring fire with a cat on my lap, reading the collected works of Shakespeare (got to swot up for Stratford you know). The big drawback was that it was a Buddhist centre and there wasn't a drop of drink to be had. We had an emergency trip to the newsagent 10 miles away, bought some cans of Stella and smuggled them into my room. Happy days.
Lovely looking races those. Personally I shall be getting further acquainted with condensed milk and ginger nuts on my weekend 18 miler round the local woods. And seeing if can break my 'pee' b (geddit !).
Hurrah, great to see all you 2009 and 2008 veterans on board here. Shame about the list delay though T-Rex.
Tom, never done the race. Going to enter tonight though. Seem to remember it fills up quick. Entering for High Peak Marathon again, which is 2 weeks before, so will prob be doing plenty of reccying over there if we get in. Sounds good.
Hi all, hope you have all thawed out, just entered Exe to Axe after a quick recce this week. Missus is not too happy, so had better not tell her about the North Dorset Village Marathon yet!
Already got approval for ran SNOD10 so that is good!
Has fell racing only just been discovered in Wales? Some races in UK have been going for 100+ years on and off. E.g. Burnsall Classic, Grasmere Guides, a lot of those straight up and down races.
Easy weekend for me, LDWA challenge event near Blackburn - just the 13m short race - and then Green Day in Manc
I think its Grasmere Guides race, goes back some hundered and forty years on and off, if my memory of Feet in the Clouds serves me. I'd be surprised if any old races on any terrain.

<<treading on eggshells>>
Britnick - no derogatory comment implied. For "his morale crumbled" read "he realised sub-4:00 might not be possible".
t rex - glad you've finally come out of the closset
so as bn requested..what's it to be..village people's YMCA? or maybe a little boy george number!
Troops, I'm in too.
Looking forward (?) to BN's Karaoke at the Padarn already.....

Now off to find some bigger hills than last time!

That's what it says on the tin DE - maybe worth investigating though. T-Rex c'mon help me out!
So which is the oldest in Enland then? and how old?
steve-z - what have I said to upset you now?! I didn't know we had a little secret.
Well, that's 22 up for it already, and 4 for a sub-4:00 group. The list is going to be massive when I eventually start it in 10 months' time.
Are you out there, Runner33? Haven't heard from you for ages. And where's that "pantomime villain"?
<<ducks>>
Entered! Will aim for 4H30!
