well you know there's this painting - Dutch artist?- what did your father do during the war?

I think it's a bit like that -If docos haven't got time to fully explain their treatment to their patients then why not? They're not only selling themselves short they're short-changing their patients - and colluding with a system that says cheap is good

    It isn't - its's cheap and nasty

    Pay more tax.
Vote for a party that says it will raise taxes.

    Hey - I'm Dr tw*t - thought I'd explained that!

Don't know much about economics but I thought we paid more tax than anyone

but the people still aren't getting a good service
    - where's the money going ? Iraq? the Illuminati?

If i had a pound for every time ive had to reassure patients about the drug info leaflets, i wouldnt need to work!!!
But of course, the companies are covering their bottoms, by listing EVERY side effect so they cant get sued

(With apologies to Go-kl for hijacking the thread.)

The average EU spending on healthcare as a % of GDP is 8.61.
The UK spends 6.8 - only Ireland and Luxembourg spend less.
Germany and France, who we should be compared to, spend 10.71 and 9.61% respectively.

Have I got these quotations of yours correct?

    “..and Dr's are f*ck*ng rubbish!”
    “…being sh*te”
    “…tw*t”
    “Useless t**ts”

I am fed up of being told that the NHS is useless, or a joke. I hear it a lot in this forum.
The NHS was conceived out of the noblest intentions of mankind.
It is staffed by men and women who spend most of their time trying to care for others.
But the bill has arrived and we are all squabbling about who should pay it.

sorry Eamonn - I didn't mean to cause offence despite appearances to the contrary

would like to see the figures for overall levels of taxation

actually, i DO think the NHS usually priovides a good service, in spite of gross underreourscing
That is often a result of the good will of the staff

i think it is drug licensing laws that require all poss side effects to be listed cf fear of being sued.I may be wrong
  • Options
    you may be right

But it scares the poor peeps what has to take the meds
  • Options
I know -it is an act of faith to put any prescription drugs down your throat if you read the inserts.
  • Options
well, you just wouldnt take them, would you

And youd eat no food if you had the same labels on it

    apology accepted.
I will try and find you the tax data.
But I suspect you are right, we wouldn't need to raise taxes if we could stop spending the money on wars.
