Just googled Marine Hall, Fleetwood, to see where we meet, & it came up as being on the Esplanade. But also nearby, just off Queens Terrace, there is another building marked "Marine Hall", so which one is race HQ??
follow the road from Blackpool just after Rossal school on your left you come to traffic lights turn left follow the road which goes to the right further down you will see the coast wall on the left then the sea and the leisure centre is on your left with parking
Stephen, I entered the half ages ago & asked last week to change to the full. I never wanted to up my entry to the full on the day, but had to check with you first whether it was full up, but you wouldn't reply to my emails. I ain't doing a marathon with no medal.
As I told you yesterday, I posted you the extra money to enter the full yesterday, so you should have it today. So I'm not an "entry on the day".
Could be XB. I might still be classed as a late entry though & get no medal. In which case I'll go back to my HM early entry! I'm really in the mood for a full though!! Just feel up for it.
I'm hoping for 5 hrs 59 Stephen. Though will probably be over 6......
Good luck everyone. Hope you all get PB's as Blackpool is so flat.
Have fun Julia. I won't see you personally if you're a 10 min miler, as I'll be the bimbler right at the back, an hour behind everyone else.....hmmmm.....
This years New course on www.shoestringresults.com New Half & Full Marathon
Let's hope that the rules on course measurement have been complied with -
“Once a course is certified as correct, the Certificate of course accuracy will remain valid in subsequent years without re-measurement, provided the organiser confirms that the course is unchanged.”
Stephen,
Can you ask the organiser if he has re-measrured the courses?
it depends on what your goals are theBorne - if i was just wanting to complete the course and not push myself then i wouldn't care. Personally i wanted to go sub 2.45 and that isnt likely to happen with a strong head wind for the last 10 mile, which is a shame as alot of people have trained hard to do pb's.
I expect many people run in the wind but not many would train being sand blasted. Well done to all that complete either of these today. I went south for about 100m on the sea walk this morning near the boating lakes and turned back and returned to the road couldn't put up with the sand (hope its improved by now). Did the half last year in the sun and that was later in the year.

Thanks for the map and answer to my route question Stephen.
Good luck everyone.
Looks like the wind is due to die down on Monday so hopefully it'll happen a bit earlier than forecast.
Thanks Compo, but I'm even more confused now!! Can't see any Marine Hall on a Princes Way....
Is this it.....on Esplanade?? Because there appears to be another Marine Hall off Queens Terrace nearby....

Cheers Compo. Just changed to the full.
Hope the marshals have torches & search & rescue dogs......I might be out there a while......
Ria what time do you think you will do?
If you enter on the day Entry Fee will be smaller because we have now hit the limit for medals & T shirts

Oh thanks Lil Chef! But Lord S has my entry so I'm pre-entered so will get my medal. (If I finish....)
You CAN'T put yours in the bin! Save it to pass onto your kids if you have any!!
I adore my medals!
You're doing this one aren't you Compo? No walking & 3 hrs 59????
Hello Every Marvelous, Wonderful, Lovely Runner geting ready for Fleetwood.
I was there today....bright and very breezy.
I'm signed up for my first +10K event in about 20 years.
I really look forward to being with you and finding a nice tall 10 minute miler to tuck in behind for the long road home.
Go well everyone. xxx
Thank you BB.
I wish you the very best. I don't like the look of the wind speed.
Head down and one foot in front of another.!!
Blackpool's weather is always insane.
It was snowing for the HM in Feb, & we nearly died of heatstroke for a 5 miler in May.....
A bit of wind is tame for Blackpool!

Stephen,
Can you ask the organiser if he has re-measrured the courses?
it's part of the fun!
