I had surgery for the second time on left knee, to repair a badly damaged meniscus on 24th March and had an excellent re-hab programme set up for me.I have completed a total weekly mileage this week of 21 miles,my last run, being last night 4.5 miles in the pouring rain in 46.05 and at the end, still something left in the locker. I have entered Blackpool half and have five weeks to build up to 13 miles,i have had no adverse reaction on my knee at all.In my head i keep saying i can do it then i think i car,nt, i suppose i am looking for encouragement. For 13 months i have been itching to run again and run in the yellow and blue vest.Am i indeed mad!

Good luck
Im sure you will be able to do it, youre an experienced runner arent you!
youve done a marathon then!
Is this your first half?
I too did my first half after a marathon
It was a nice feeling stopping at 13 miles
(benz sobs, next marathon is only wekks away, and she hasnt trained)
There are loads of forumites doing blackpool
Dont know why i said id do 3 marathons in 3 months though, well, yes i do
Im daft!
Runners unite!
Why not train sensibly, with a planned build-up to Blackpool, (no heroics!) and with a get-me-round target? If you listen to your body honestly and attentively, you will know if you have taken on too much, and then you can plan another target further down the line.
