Spoons ... take my hat off to you for VLM training this time of year ... are you finding it hard to find more time for longer runs ? ..... I', plodding along ok ... slowly getting back to good training (well for me that is) distances for the half after foot injury kept me out over nov/ dec .... so hopefully be hitting it just right for Norwich ....
Hi everyone! Training for VLM too. Not sure about whether or not to 'race' the HM or just use it as a training run... What's the weather like in Norfolk? Here in Sheff it's lovely but windy..
Been pretty mild and pleasent here in Norfolk the last few days, the sun is making regular appearances now! Forecast is for a pretty decent day on Sunday at the moment.
My first ever half marathon done it in 2:09:09 so quite chuffed considering I wasnt able to train for 6 weeks after chrimbo, really enjoyed it although the 1 1/2 mile walk home was a bit challenging.
Had a great time and another PB here (2:00:27!!) Was pleasantly surprised by the turnout in the villages we went through - that was a welcome boost. Unlike most people it wasn't the hill that got me but the tiny bit of sunshine/heat we had!! Must get acclimatising for VLM....
Congrats on the PB Mr Spoons. You finished 2 places ahead of me!!
Well done everyone who ran, especially if you got PB's. The new course is quick, my fastest two HM times are now this half marathon so hope to have another crack at it later this year.
Agree that the atmosphere seemed superb this year, lots and lots of support around the course!
Now for the big one......my first London marathon!
Haha, that's fine with me so long as you finish sub 4 hours, that's my target and although completing a marathon is an achievement in itself I think I'll be a little disappointed if I don't break 4 hours.

Will there be another Norwich Half later this year in it's usual slot in November?
Yes according to CONAC Road race fixture list the 2011 Norwich HM is scheduled for Sunday 27th November.
Not long until the rearranged date.....hopefully weather will stay as mild as it has been!
It's all go !
Quite suprised by the lack of chat about this race considering it says on the website that its full.
Im using it as a training run for the london marathon still going for a PB of under 2:07.
hopefully this wind dies down
its been blowing hard now for a few days
I'm also training for London. Looking forward to Sunday. My legs are knackered from marathon training but they should get me round......
I did 1:39 last year and am hoping to beat that.
Round in 2hrs 2 mins. Very happy, PB by 16mins!!! Could not have got better weather. Same again in November?
