stoke forcast is not too warm (poss 18 degrees) and cloudy - at least that is what they have given out locally - i also avoid any talk of BB, BGT and X Factor - never watched any of them
Still to soon for accurate weather, we'll have a better idea on Friday.
It looks like it should be fairly comfortable though with temps 16-18, a gentle breeze, dry but cloudy, cloud cover being the important bit as far as I'm concerned
got my number tonight! my letter was in a royal mail "your letter has been damaged" bag. I have my number, chip, eseential info leaflet and the phot flyer. anyone aware if im missing anything?!
Starting to really look forward to Sunday now. I've done Potters every year since its started in 2005 (with the exception of 2008) and its my favourite half - absolutely brilliant atmosphere.
Hope its not going to be too hot - looking ok at the moment
does anyone know about parking? I was thinking of parking in the pottereis (the shopping centre) as per the website but the flyer in the race pack says it is unavailable?
Maelca There's lots of parking off the ring road that is free on Sundays now. There's also a multi storey by the Victoria Hall which I usually use for this. Most parking is only a couple of mins away from the start.
Last year the parking was awful as the car park by the bus station was closed and auditions for 'Stokes got talent' were being held at the same time as the race! There seemed to be queues everywhere
My advice is to get there early
Temperatures are looking as though they could be ok for this race
Neil - nice one on your pb. I trained with the club on Weds and not running now until Sunday. Bit gutted about my lousy Westbridge run last Sunday too.
This is the one race of the year i stll get a bit jumpy about!
The week before a HM i always feel every ache/pain etc none to man (& woman to be PC) and this last week has been no different!!!!!! Last sunday i did a 9 miler and felt like i could have done the same again no problem, then on wednesday instead of running at approx 9min miles i ran at 8min miles and when i realized i thought........sod it i will keep it up but only do 4 miles instead of 5-6miles. Since THAT run i have felt pains in my knee and dont feel like i could run a HM at the moment.
BUT TBH this is how i always feel in the week before a HM and normally (touch wood) on race day at the start line i get the buzz and feel fine.
Good luck every one and heres hopping for no strong wind, cloudy with a slight chill......

Hopefully I will be doing this. Not sure if I will go steady or race hard yet. Depends if I can resist being dragged along
1.24 shouldnt be much of a problem for you this year Neil?
im not a speedy runner either! hoping for 10min miles
Betty08 has your pack arrived yet? think you were a later entry like me.
ps im glad i dont have a wife!! or a husband for that matter! sounds stressful!
just under 10min miles will do me
and my hubby wont come out running so im FREE as a bird on my runs and races
I'm hoping for sub2 but not too bothered if i dont achieve it. Getting the miles back into my legs after edinburgh and towards a autumn marathon.
Anybody got an update on the weather, not that it matters as the weather men always get it wrong.
hope its like today
and i have my ear plugs ready andy, i refuse to listen to any babble about BB
