They won't keep your feet completely dry, cos as Buddha says, they can keep some sweat in - but to run through knee-deep muddy puddles and get home with only damp feet is to my mind far better than either having to avoid the fun of the puddles or ending up with soaking wet feet. The modern versions dry far quicker than the older ones.

I run in both the mid light and the ultra light.
Best places to buy? I usually google them and see who's got what - some of the cycle shops seem to have good prices.
I've used sealskinz for years and can attest to their waterproofing
personally I wouldn't run in them as they are as good at keeping sweat in as water out - but do bike in them
