Well I agree that appearances shouldn't matter but they seem to! A big plus of the forums used to be interacting with people based on their posts rather than their appearance. There are several forumites who regularly post their pics. If they are pretty I suspect there is a viewpoint that they are trying to 'brag'. If they are average to ugly I suspect we admire them for being comfortable in their own skin.
D2D may be either of the above. Who cares. I worry that she's taking risks and is a bit naive in her posting. I can't remember being 23 and wonder whether I'd have been so trusting.
I do think her approach to running is 'interesting' and am keen to see the outcome. I hope that she doesn't avoid learning from it in order to save face on forum, that's all. Whilst it may entertain us either as an absurdity or an irritation we love to pick .......she's still a person.
That first para seems to suggest I think appearances do really matter..... I find people of depth usually don't rely on their looks. Hence I don't value appearances desperately but am amused at other people's reactions to pretty people- are they threatened?
there does seem to be some posting above that people seem to think that if i'm prettier than you then you haven't got a right to an opinion on prettiness...........
The same as if you only run 3 times a week or 25 miles then you have no right to make a comment on someone who runs 6 times a week or 100 miles.............
as if by doing these things it gives you more knowledge or wisdom....or just makes you a superior person to others,,,,,
The best football players rarely make the best football coaches/ managers..........
the prettiest models rarelky become the editors and designers of the big companies
I think i'm thinking a bit too deep for me this early in the morning.........i'm off for a run
so don't have a go at everyone just because they don't write what you want to hear each time.........thats what forums are............train your partner to say all the right things to the right questions...........it will be quicker than trying to train the entire forum to write the things you want to hear
Well quite.
D2D, like Mary Poppins, is convinced she is practically perfect in every way. I'm not sure why it still amazes her that people on here don't generally agree with her high opinion of herself.
Maybe it's just me, I think D2D looks more attractive in her finish line photo where she's beating Paula. Could do with a bit more sweat on her though.

Actually I do know why but I'm too polite to say!
Ahem, as we're posting pictures, here's one of me, I'm the one sitting down with the hat on
CJBA - nice teeth!
