This sooooo spooky, Dustin. I named my cat Moschops, co he used to eat leaves. It was fantastic. Bloody embarassing going to the vet and them callng out.. 'Moschops Barkley' and me saying 'yes, over here!' Sadly died six years ago. Still miss the little so and so.
What about the suitable-for-kids shows on Saturday and Sunday mornings? I remember the Double Deckers (about children who had a den in a bus), Little House on the Prairie, Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) - recently redone but I missed the new version - and Bonanza, which I didn't like apart from the theme tune. I think Daktari and Flipper and Skippy were on then too.
And does anyone remember Button Moon? Wonderful, blatantly low-budget programme from the 1980s that I had never heard of until we picked up a video at a school fete. The kids love it, and I must admit I quite like it too.
I haven't read the other 100 postings so this might have been mentioned before. The Banana Splits I can't name them all though, Dongo, Droopy, ........ ....... It also showed some cartoons, The 3 Muscateers, & that one when the genie said "SIZE OF AN ......" and would turn into the said animal. I think it also had a donkey who if he had his tailpulled would turn into a whirlwind.
Dustin, I think the girl with the tiger grow up and starred in a porn film (so I told and sorry to lower the tone everyone, especially so early on a Monday).
I remember Button Moon too. Anyone remember paper play with itsy and bitsy the glove puppet spiders? My friend's mum made those spiders for her kids and friends and we all wanted one, or two.
this thread's still running then? update from Fri - Zokko dates from about the winter of '68-9 "Marianne Dreams" was a brilliant story (we had it on the radio at primary school in the summer of 69) which has alas never spawned a decent film version Some other kids' TV programmes I remember from the 60s - some of them awful: Four Feather Falls (Gerry Anderson's first puppet venture - predated Supercar & Fireball XL5) The Terrific Adventures of the Terrible Ten (Aussie(?) cr*p) Belle and Sebastian (French, likewise)
Yes to most of the older ones, no to anything later than 1973, 'cos that's when I moved to Germany and we didn't get to pick up British TV until digital was invented.
Here's some more - Magic Roundabout Lost in Space The Invisible Man Highway Patrol The Whirlybirds Wagon Train
Anyone ever understand what Man in A Suitcase was all about?
And I think I must be the only person in the world who has never seen the last episode of The Fugitive, neither old version nor new!
Mr V-rap insists that there was a cartoon about an aardvark when he was a nipper. I can't remember it. He doesn't know what the programme (or the aardvark) was called. It would have been early to mid 1970s. Anyone got any ideas?
Has anyone mentioned Teddy Edward? If anyone remembers it can they remind me as my memeory's very hazy. I basically remember a cheap animation using a stuffed teddy bear. Also, Pipkins with Hartley Hare was a personal favourite, although I didn't care much for the pig.
I remember Teddy Edward, but only because one of my little sister's friends had a bear called Teddy Edward and liked the show. By then I was too old and sophisticated (like, about 8) to appreciate it.
Definitely Squiddly Diddly. Wasn't he at a theme park or something? Also Atom Ant (up and at 'em Atom Ant!!)
Glenn, Also Torchy the Battery Boy - it had a little song that went something like Torchy, Torchy, the battery boy.. great lyrics.
V-Rap, Vague memeories of the Aardvark but no more.
OK, does anyone remember a programme called 'Ten Town'. I don't think it's the same as the Terrible Ten. I seem to remember it was a 'town' of sorts lots of clapboard. a bit like a western town but inhabited by 10 year olds.
Thundercats... Transformers... He-Man... Dungeons & Dragons... All great! Plus there were the repeats of Camberwell Green (haha- Meant camberwick green) and of course... Mr Benn!

Am I really that old.........
Features the Arabian Knights, Three Musketeers and Danger Island (remember that).
What about the moose on the wall.
Loved the double deckers - especially the girl with the cuddly tiger , called er tiger.
Had a crush on her when I was about 7.
V-rap - remember button moon , no expense spared on that production....

So what was the name of the foxy film with tiger girl in?
Any volunteers to do a sweep of dodgy film purveyors?
and who can forget secret squirrel
A precis if you please.
Vrap, can't help with the comedy aardvark
Also, Pipkins with Hartley Hare was a personal favourite, although I didn't care much for the pig.
Oh and the aardvark thing, I think that was something to do with the pink panther cartoon.
Squiggley Diddley (sp?) it was an octopus
Bizzie Lizzie
