SA, I had my first sub3 in Abo last year. We had a sub3 train of about 11 people at the start of the race. Most of us used this forum to share info about the training so hope we can do a repeat this year.
And as for the marathon pace training I to am a strong believer in doing some long runs at MP or faster.
Will be starting my training for this in July. Resting up a bit as I just did VLM. Although I am doing a 16.5 mile hill race on Sunday.
Good luck to all Training and looking forward to some good banter when the training kicks off. Stay safe and injury free.
I'm looking for Sub 3:15 at abingdon after running 3:16 last year. Confidence has taken a bit of a knock as struggled home in 3:34 at Stratford. Still got a bit of a calf injury which keeps coming back thu' overtraining me thinks, so I' going for the Furman plan for Abingdon. First run this morning since stratford, just 3 steady to test calf. Feels OK but normally does n't start hurting till a few hours after running.
Many thanks Fast legs. I shall keep a close eye/contribute on the forum regarding a sub 3 at Abingdon and hopefully i'll be in the sub 3 train this year.
Before that it's a 10km tomorrow....an eleven year old PB has to go.....
Anyone else here looking to do aroud 4hrs? My PB is 4:23, but I should be able to do around 4 if the training goes ok... just getting over an injury at the mo though that's set me back...
I'm going for sub-3:30. It's a bit ambitious since my PB in only 3:45, but I reckon I should be able to do it if I manage to put the miles in. But I figure that with two previous marathons under my belt I might as well go for a fast time.
Hi PP, hope there will be a few of us to share the driving mate How are you keeping?
Hi FL hows the running going........I am looking forward to starting the training for Abingdon.... I am looking at an 18 week training plan and am going to do something a bit different from the last few programes...
Whats this I read about you driving the sub 3 train....I thought we where going for a different target time.
SA I used the RW sub 3 training plan for my first Abingdon and bagged a 2:58, might be worth a look...what club do you run for as I am also living in Hampshire at the moment and running for Stubbington Green.
Hi FL Training post London is going ok, but I have had a few shocking races.
Hows your knee now, hopefully better. I have been very lucky on the injury front, however I have lost a fair bit of speed over the shorter races....I suppose you cant have it both ways....
Are the other guys doing Abingdon again, MM61 and was it Mark that paced us round last year?
Any lurkers who are worried they are too slow to be one here just dive in and join me. I ran a PB of just under 4.27 last year and will be running this year 3 weeks after an ultra!

SA, good luck for tomorrow. Whats the PB time?
Having an easy few weeks before starting serious training (May & June off) for this one.
Currently in essay hell and will be until October the way things are going this year.
The 11 yr old PB still stands....oh well......bit of an undulating course which didn't lend itself to fast time
SA, commiserations mate! What is the PB time your trying to beat?
I run the Sarn Helen 16.5 mile hill race on Sunday and had a PB of 1:56:29 and 3rd vet 4th place over all. Very happy with that.

Steve paced us around last year, but this year he will be doing his own thing and going for sub 2:35.
Hope to hang on to you this time around and maybe get some help of Barnsley Runner and Hilly if they are around this time
