I'm jealous of everyone - I cant run today as Ive done my knee in - Ive been out 4 lunchtimes out of 4 this week (mon-thurs) doing 4 miles a time, and yesterday my knee started complaining (pain/ache on the left and right outside of the knee?) so what do i do...i go to the gym last night as well, and after 10 mins on the tready that was that, well and truly ******. so 2 days rest for me and then try again on sunday morning. i'm a bit worried though as its always the left knee, and it always plays up after a consecutive run ie if i do one day on, one day off its ok, but one after the other and it doesnt like it at all. anyway - im jealous of you all :-((
Poor You MTH. I think your knee is trying to tell you something, though. I always aim for a rest day (well, I do at the moment, coz I've only been running about 6 weeks or so. My knees get very sore if I run on two consecutive days.
More of a bimble than a plod for me this morning - 3 miles battling against strong wind blowing rain straight in my face. How can you run a circular route and have the wind in your face all the way? Luckily didn't have my watch on - felt like hours.
Rest tomorrow then 5 miles on Sunday - eek! Did it once before (about 6 weeks ago) but seem to have "gone off" since then. Will let you know ...
I believe its a class at the gym on exercise/static bikes - its the latest craze & its supposed to require loads of effort - which is why ive never been to one!
probably best, i did it once then didn't go again. i have the attention span of a two year old though so doing anything for more than 10 minutes frustrates me! at least when i'm outside running i have things to look at.
I had to avoid a dead rabbit on my lunchtime run yesterday, it was in a field amongst loads of long grass - yuck! also, i have to run through a little patch of rhubarb - i wonder if i can help myself to it seeing as its growing on a public footpath?? can just see myself smuggling it back to work in the tracky bottoms!
Probably not any dog walkers (long stinging nettles too) but that is a very good point - what if the rhubarb killed the rabbit?? I work at a Power station and the field is in the land bordering it - what if the powerstation killed the rhubarb that killed the rabbit? what if the powerstation or rhubarb kills me?!
<further tension> (oh no will now be forced to run round power station grounds under pylons and possibly die from freak accident involving pylons, dead rabbits, rhubarb and torrential rain)

Have you had them checked out?
Mud is good, but rain is better H. I like the Homer idea better than the house one - plus, more people will get it.
It was the first time I'd run through real mud and, hell, it was hard work. I expect I really shall need my rest day tomorrow.
'Spose I'd better go and do some work now...

Hahahaaaaaaaaaaa!!! :-))
Anyhow... had an awful hangover this morning which was somewhat dissipated by spinning, but it appears to be getting worse now again...
Am planning a 10K sometime over the weekend - hope everyone has fun in the rain!
please forgive my ignorance, but what is spinning ?
what if the rhubarb killed the rabbit?
I constantly get chased by roosters, avoided by frantic sheep, startled by phesants and glared at by a large bull. Thank god for fences.
I was wondering the other day though - are fences to keep animals in or to keep runners out?

what does
runner + 400,000 volts + rain equal?
