Too slow going down hills

If im honest, when I set my top speed of 58mph I wasnt aware at the time, I found from checking the bike computer later.

Had I know at the time there would have been no way id have let the speed get up so high.  Im comfortable at 40mph but the thought of 58mph on a bike just scares me.

likewise Barlist - I knew I was going quick - the amount my arse was puckering was telling me that - but how quick was only revealed by the computer later as I daren't try and read the fecking thing as I was descending! my focus was staying on the bike....

Happy if it's wide and you can see where you are going but the narrow ones frighten me shitless. A decent frame makes faster speed easier.

No it's not !!

Don't like steeeeep, narly techy downhills on an MTB, but I've never found tarmac too steep, ever. May have gone at it slower. I think we've said before do some MTB'ing then the road hills won't seem as steep because they are lovely and smooth-ish.

I would say it is a cheap one which is possibly why it registers  top speed 75.9mph.  Somehow I don't think it is quite right.

oh dear - rechecked my garmin - it seams the fastest i've been is infact 39.2mph not 40.8

Just seen this thread and went to check my Garmin for IMCH 2009 and surprised myself. Don't have any hills here in Holland to practice on so when I start going down one I just hope and pray.......and FB was my mentor
