Did the fell run route tonight then came home to bad news........a friend in her30s has lost her battle with cancer leaving her great hubbie and two young sons. Sad night. Life is short enjoy it.
Good thanks Mark. Still not sure about my next goal. Got out for an hour this afternoon, very autumnal. Hopefully I will be back up to 3 runs a week from next week. Nothing too long, trying to get some speed into the legs as I know I can go the distance.
Done about 28 miles this week so just goingbto try and stay fit this winter and try to get stronger to go longer mileage. Have a good week all just going to watch a program about our area on BBC 4 at nine, it shows our village and Cherpit Lane where I run up to Longstone Edge.
Had a good session on Tuesday night, 7 miles with 8 hills. Legs were aching all of Wednesday. Got a blister on my foot in a place I've never had one before, maybe its time for a new pair of trainers *heads off to look at trainers on internet* (well it is lunch time)
Had a slightly slower week this week as body bit sore so only done 14 I think this week.....going out tonight with a mate and a head torch ordered for the dark nights. Been reading about Hansons marathon training method in the latest RW magazine where you run faster sessions but never longer than 16 miles for the longest run, you just run stronger and faster interesting stuff. Need to get a schedule set up as my first marathon in 2012 is March 10th so thats only 18 weeks away so need to get on it.............just cant make my mind up which one to go with. Printed off loads Hal Higgdons, RWs one and now ordered Advance Marathoning which I read at a friends house as it has loads of schedules. Probably getting too complicated about it.
Happy running to any out there still training. Did 26 miles last week and up to 13 this week. Got some serious reading to do loads of books on Marathon running for some reason!!
4.3 miles in the sunshine at lunch and nearly time to cycle home in the dark...........roll on end of Jan when it starts getting lighter. Dislike November...................Son in law got his new 405 Garmin last night then he went for another run, think he is hooked!!!
It is addictive Mark. Is he running Edinburgh with you?
Gatton, yes I'm still around. Still not sure what to do next, if the Southend Marathon gets the nod I might be tempted to sign up as I could do the clubs marathon training again. Hope you are up and running soon.
In the mean time I'm on count down to the 1st of December when we get the keys to our new house. A weeeknd of packing for me to look forward to.
Been out this am in wind and rain with youngsters did 6.5 in 59 mins, abit quick really we set off slow into the wind then turned back and had the downhill and the wind at our backs so came back in eight min miles. Happy Sunday. 32 this week, pleased with that.
Time to plod home in the wind, rain and pitch black what a joy to run in the rain. That should take me up to 10 miles for the week, cruising at the moment. Anyone else doing owt??

Yes Suze my son in law is running Edinburgh Marathon with me and the same day, the OH and two daughters are doing the half. So a right family affair.
Hope the move goes well on the 1st, its abit stressful moving. We are moving offices end of year thats going to be fun.
All the best Gatton..........
Going well for me 18 this week so far. Encountered a bat which sat on my jacket last night basking in the light of my headtorch.
4 miles in 32 mins at lunch today, nice day here in Bakewell.
Happy running all.
Goal for December is to build long runs to 10 miles but everything else short and slow
Mid-term goal is Wokingham Half in Feb - I suppose that will have to be a sub-2 attempt
Longer term is MK marathon in April, Wokingham will help decide on marathon pace
Happy Sunday.
32 this week, pleased with that.
