I have been experiencing problems for the last couple of days acquiring satellites on my unit.

Have tried various re-setting procedures, running the battery flat and re-charging, updating the soft ware/firmware etc etc ...

Prior to this it has always acquired satellites within a minute at most.

Having contacted Garmin I have been asked to return it to them for replacement.

I was curious as to whether anyone else has had, is having, similar issues?

Last Saturday (April 24) in Edinburgh, the Garmin 405 took forever to lock onto satellites. My SO reported that the 305 was slow a few days before. Strange atmospheric conditions? Ash? I don't really know.

Had a similar situation yesterday. Whilst waiting for a friend I locked my 405 after a few seconds. He took an age to get his shoes and stuff ready and by the time he was done the unit had timed out.
Went to lock again and it took over a minute this time.

Just the way it goes I guess or perhaps it's not used to clear blue skies

Unfortunately mine had a fault.... 

Feel naked running without it, keep thinking I have lost it enroute! LOL 

Monday night I gave up waiting for it to lock on, I just presumed it would be ok after resetting or draining the battery..... Not!

Very impressed with Garmin service. Dispatched my 310 to them on wednesday, they would of received it yesterday, today I have received my replacement!
