I'm actually planning to do some twaining myself...
I just found the fact that every noobee is faster than my 1:46 from last year rather depressing... okay so I had a hurty hip post Switzerland and had to walk a lot of the run, but still.... I should do better than I am...
Am also er looking at trying to find a fancy pants tri bike
I thought you already did Calfie! Bike looked pretty fancy -pants already, so will look forward to seeing the new one!
I've started training too, went to spin last night, and did some weight training by lugging my nooooo tent up 3 flights of stairs. Back stiff today because of it, well, one side of it is Rest day today, back at it tomorrow
Booooo. WHy have they brought the date of the race forward this year? I'll be doing the Vit and annoyed as I want to bring down the run time and get another PB!
It's no longer the same date as my sisters wedding! Although I'm supposed to be marshalling the vit if the fairy sort's out the pirate water station. So some form of usural lift's, trains and madness plan is in order so I can get to the start line in time.
Oh and I can drink properly in september. You have been warned!
Cake - I will be sorting out support at The Vit a little bit nearer the time, but I have a little niggle in the back of my mind that I could pop into this on the way home either on the Sat afternoon/evening or exceedingly early on Sunday morning, either to take part or support so..........
Don't forget there will be a few sherries after the vit so plan that in. Would be a shame if you missed out after sorting all the stuff out. Worst comes to the worst I can put down a really bad swim time and get the train up or be a bad'un and call in favours from none tri people and see if anyone can give me a lift. I've got family near the vit course, I was only born a couple of miles from it.
Cake - contrary to popular opinion I am not a massive drinker so it won't bother me to stay dry for the drive down. I am mulling over entering, but not gonna commit til I see how my OW swims go in a couple of months. By which time, entries may be full but that's the risk I am gonna have to take.
Whether I take part or not, it's making sense to make it a Pirate Weekend and ditch the Bristol idea. And there is no point having spare seats in my car if others need to get from The Vit to Nantwich.
I am waiting for a recommendation from a guy in my new gym. He worked as a fizz for Salford City reds and so specialises in sports injuries. I thought I might give him a go...
GP doesn't want to know anyway. She just says "stop running then"

Bloody GPs
Apparently they don't all run. How odd is THAT??
I know. I can't get my head around it. And ever since my colleague found out that I run, he periodically tells me about the GP down the road who used to run ultras and had a heart attack during a marathon. And then dropped dead whilst on the treadmill a year or so later. But he always tell me that, of course, he used to smoke 40 a day and be the size of a house before he took up running. So not to let it worry me.
LB - Can your GP get you a referral to Beaconsfield health centre in Widnes, the physio for my achilles is Ray Vose and he is a coach for Sutton atheltic club in St Helens.
Just discovered that my Windermere swim is on the Saturday so I will be driving back down the M6 on Sunday. I might just feel obliged to pop in en route just in case there is some free booze going.

I passed Dave just on the end of his last lap. He was struggling with the heat and was walking but he looked determined.
I'll be driving up early from the Vit to Nantwich I think, so I can have a wee celebratory drink with the Vitruvians, then can pootle up the road in the morning for the tri So i'll have one spare seat, and room for another bike etc if anyone needs a lift.

Your travel arrangements could be sorted
First rule about Dave club, you do not talk about Dave club.
Second rule about Dave club, YOU DO NOT TALK ABOUT DAVE CLUB!
He was the nice chap doing Sunday for charity (his local kids unit) who camped next to all of us, I don't think the poor bloke know what hit him.

I'm not going to ignore them any longer. I wanted to do this and then I thought I'd be a good ickle LB and seek help.
So far I have called Autoglass, the AA and the samaritans and nobody gives a sh*t....

Hmmmm, it's about 100miles (2-2.5hours) drive from the vit to nantwich according to the AA.
Gutted, but I'll be giving this a miss and celebrating/comiserating after the vit.
