The pool is 30.5m, which gives a total of 488m for the sixteen lengths. However, I noticed this time that as there are two lanes joined together for each set of four lengths, pedants make up the 12m by edging along the rail at the pool ends to ensure proper clockwise swimming.
BTW, when I was watching the swimming at the tri last week before my start time, two guys headbutted each other because one was swimming up the right side of the two lanes. I blame digital watches.
Normally at the Pirate events we have a few large flags on display unfortunately these got thrown in the Bin at Kona as it appears that the Ironman switzerland organisers were annoyed at the cost of removing pirate stickers after their event and took delight in binning OUR flags.
We are currently trying to rearrange some more flags but need contributions from as many as possible at around £5 each
I have an excuse though, I happened to be racing all day, a bit like getting a parking ticket on the same day as Lanza IM in 2007, my mum was using the hire car with Kelly and supporters to follow me round the island, 3 months later a parking ticket arrives !! WTF ?!!
Felt a bit 'throaty' yesterday, so decided to have another day off. TBH the miserable start to the day didn't help. Oh, and my clutch has gone on the car. At least it wasn't last week. Still, 1 mile bike ride to work could technically be classed as training.....
If it wasn't for Calfie I would have been carless for another year... I'm so thankful he knows his stuff. I was carless the whole year I was IM training and it was no fun. All the little journeys add to your fatigue yet add nothing to your fitness. Have you got someone who can fix it for you or is it going to be a garage job?

I think I can hold back on that, altho not sure I can refrain from pointing out people may have their goggles on upside down

Just wondering if Nam and Calf are going to the Outlaw?
As there is feed station from the local HOOTERS, just thought Nam might fit right in there
