I'm amazed with the closeness of many sprint finishes and the barging that takes place, plus the weaving bikes, that there aren't more finish sprint crashes
Got the Tour of Switzerland on TV, and Carlton Kirby and Brian Smith both saying one of those things. If you don;t like the game don;t play. Youwont see Contador or Wiggins getting involved in that.
6 of one and half a doz of the other seems to be the feeling on TV
I think Contador is the one to watch but i alos think he'll be attacked day after day especially by team Radioshack sence he and lance are such good mates
I also think lance may place again ... if he completes
... and i have my new livestrong Oakley Jawbone Sunglasses to wear in support
just watched teh slow motion in even slower motion of cavendish's crash and it looks pretty horrific. watching their heads hit the ground i bet they're happy they'd got their helmets on. suprised at the protest though today. it's not the first big crash and it wasn't like he was too crazy.
I'm sure with nano technology the bikes are going to be aided pretty soon. maybe not as blatant as batteries and motors. but something using microtechnology and giving a race winning edge like an extra 5-10 watts.
On the offchance that this might come as news to someone... the latest cyclingnews podcast has a rather interesting (IMO) interview with Gary Imlach who will be celebrating his 20th year of commentary on this years TdF http://video.cyclingnews.com/podcasts/cn_podcast.xml
I bought my TdF Official Programme today. Mainly for the poster for my boys room (apparently we're not allowed it in our bedroom)....My wife loves this time of year - when she loses me for an hour every night whilst the highlights are on.

listened to it today. thought it was pretty interesting. good to hear Benson as well.
Dan Lloyd has been called into the Cervelo team as a late replacement - fantastic news for him. He didthe same winter group ride as me last year, really is a nice bloke with no ego!
wonder if the allegations around USP will be fleshed out a bit more over the next few days prior to the tour? there's gotta be some doping breaking news prior to the tour surely!
looking forward to this years tour. i think i'll take next tuesday off to see what happens on the cobbels(sic).
i think lance realises he's going to be fighting court cases for the next couple of years. even a die hard lance fan will soon have to concede he was doped to the gills like all the people he beat.
it'd be fun to see him doing kona.
i'm looking forward to seeing wiggins and cav in action too.
Someone pointed me in the direction of this website some time ago. Has interesting articles about lots of different things, Pantani's hematocrit (according to the posting) peaked at 64%.

I watched it about a dozen times last night - Cav is veering off his line more than Haussler was. So I'd say its 70/30 Cav to Haussler to blame.
Cavs certainly not got the legs of 2009 - if he had - Haussler wouldnt have been able to get near his back wheel to crash into !
Loved the way Flecha got through though, and Freire looked like he had a clear path on the outside til two bikes came bouncing across.
I cant see that Cav will win a shedload of stages this year unless his form picks up massively.
The Omega Pharma Lotto rider who has just gone off into the crowd look banged around a bit
Horrid weather today for racing

Mmm, interesting article on bike doping pointing finger at Cancellara (view video).
Edited to correct hyperlink
I think the Italians are just pleased to manufacture a doping story that doesn't involve their fellow countrymen for a change!
I liked the line in the article:
"The UCI banned battery-operated engines 2005"
As though it would have been perfectly fine and above board to have used one before then.

Yeah Wall Street Journal is meant to have more details from Landis this week. Its getting that you can't have a Grand Tour without a scandal.
Pave?
I see Lance has twittered that it is his final TdF. So Kona 2011 then?
