it does sound alot compared to paying in funny foreign money. still, i probably spent more than £300 on food that was that worse than school dinners when we were in Zurich.
i'll pop over and set the family up on one of the many steep hills in the area.
Good point - 'foreign' IM distance races probably end up costing a hell of a lot more than £300 when entry fee, travelling, accommodation, food etc is added in....
Not sure how good the English food would be though

As I'm in no state to race an IM distance at the moment (and not likely to be by September) I've volunteered to help. Anyone like to join me?

Don't need to do the 2000m of climbing, one loop only should be sufficient.

Right just boinging this thread as somehow I seemed to get busy in June and forgot this until I thought I best recce the course!
Either day on the weekend of 20th / 21st August preferable for me but could possibly do the 13th / 14th at a push. Any of those dates possible for those who showed an interest previously?
Just boinging this up again if anyone still interested.
I'm going to reccee the course next Saturday 20th August, plan to start in the morning maybe 9am - 10am ish.
Good job we'd not done it earlier as they've recently tweaked the course!
There's not many racing it JD, myself, which witch & richardcampbell are the 3 that I know of......it might mean that I'm one of the first 3 pirates out of the swim for a change

the plan was to see if I could manage 2 events on the back of 1 (& a tiny bit) lot of training. The additional 3 weeks peak training that I was hoping to get in is unlikely to happen!
Let's just say it's been a very restful last couple of days of holiday before back to work tomorrow!

Just to say I am still considering entering the half distance as I believe that there are about 200 spaces?
If I don't I have volunteered to man a drinks station - any other Pirates interested in joining me to make a Piratey station?
