Liverpool Half Marathon 2011

Good to see early confirmation of the 2011 Liverpool Half Marathon. Early entry is recommended as there will be limit on entries next year.

  • Helps if you put the date! Sunday, 27th March.
  • image Muppet. image
  • This was a great race last year so I'm definately in.
  • Cake - I was so excited about announcing the date... I forgot to put it on!

Veester - we will be improving the quality of the event once again so I'm sure you will enjoy it! Course will be the same so you can compare your time.
  • Loved it last year. Well, all of it excapt for the last few miles which felt like a re-enactment of Twister, but at least that adds to the character of the race!

get it booked off work now.

  • I think I'm washing my hair....image

    Morning Alan!

  • Morning LB! Noticed your comment on the other thread which I'll take as a compliment.
  • That's in the diary image

Ooooh, I'm a little bit nervous - not had a great running week & haven't done HM since 2002 - best get busy.

  • IL - your high intensity endurance thighs will return in no time at all!
  • Yey, I'm up for this again.

Just hope my twins arent suffering with chicken pox again like they were this year, was touch and go whether I was going to make the start..

Dont think i'll be requesting number 13 again though

  • hah no not yet, it was dispatched finally yesterday, should arrive Monday
  • First entries received today! Two from Cornwall and one from Edinburgh. Fantastic! If that doesn't endorse the positive aspect of what we are doing then nothing will!!
  • That's my application delivered, I should have asked, pretty please can I bagsie "No 40", or are we only playing that game on the Mersey Marathon thread?image
  • I can arrange numbers wherever possible at the moment but when the entries start to come in regularly I can't I'm afraid. Happy to oblige where I can.
  • Alan, I`m having a senior moment, have i already entered this race,im sure i have, omg im losing the plot,i`m having that many senior moments that my new chat up line is,do I come here often?image
  • Yes, you do come here often but you haven't entered the HM! Are you aaalllllrriiggghhhhtttt?

  • I didn't know you could enter yet!

I suppose I should get a wriggle on so Alan can give me a decent number! image

  • noooooo ,i meant the liverpool 10k in octoberimage
  • But this the HM thread! Send me your address details to my email address and I'll check.

  • LB - I opened them discreetly on our web site and the entries are now coming in. I've imposed a limit this year (6,000) and the closing date is THREE WEEKS before race date to allow us time to manage properly! I'm not expecting another 1,400 increase next year but when the Liverpool Marathon is announced (whether we do it or not) then i expect interest to increase very quickly. Be good to get another 1,400 though!
  • I bet this is an expensive one. The events organised by these people always are
  • Then run elsewhere. You get what you pay for I find.
  • Not the case at all. Plenty of good cheap races around that are good value. I think your events are expensive and not particularly good value, cheap t shirt for 10k event. I'd like to do a liverpool marathon but not convinced you guys would give good value for the money
