Road bike winter or summer, wet or dry, do you swap over, which do you prefer
Leaves can of worms wide open and retires a safe distance
i've never noticed alot of difference between lubes. i mean they all lube the chain. if you don't clean your chain alot during winter it'll be ruined regardless of the lube.
For my MTB I use the lube I use for my motorbike, it's fairly fluid when applied so penetrates into the rollers nicely and then becomes quite thick and sticky so stays on the chain and not flick off when used.
For the road bike I also use the Finish Line lube.

I've been using some all purpose lube so far but need to look for something more bike specific... this one is too liquid and flicks off while cycling, not to mention that it attracts all the crud.
Wet lube for when it's wet Dry lube for when it's dry! Wet muddy conditions will wash-off dry lubes and your chain will rust. Dry dusty conditions will cause wet-lube to act as grinding paste.
K... chain cleaned on my day to day bike .... wow... the little magnet on the chaincleaner had a field day (lots of metal particles) and dry lube applied...and now it's raining ...drats...
Ok now... seeing them mess i made...how does everyone else clean their chain?
I get other people to sort my bike!
Why ON EARTH would I do it myself and get oil on my hands?

I agree I married a mechanic, he does have his uses. Then I can get busy doing my nails etc...
Oh he uses motorbike lube as Gazmeister suggested and a very nicely packaged item called 'Rock and Roll' blue, looks pretty on the shelf.
I bought some chain lube at Trentham tri.
No idea what it is. Just quite proud I even bothered. I didn't know you had to oil the chain till Mr Bump told me mine was dry....
